A highly contemporary property in the heart of the city – Pan Pacific London

The concept behind Pan Pacific London’s architecture and interior design was to honour the brand’s Asian heritage, while creating a highly contemporary property that would resonate with its London setting. New York-based design duo Yabu Pushelberg have created a compelling offering and stylish design aesthetic for Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s first European property.

Yet this is not the first hospitality project Laufen have developed with the team at Yabu Pushelberg, their longstanding relationship confirmed by Glenn Pushelberg, who states they are “happy to be a good partner”. As global suppliers to iconic hospitality projects, Laufen invest significant time in developing their partnership approach through their inclusive network in order to actively participate in both the design process and realisation.

Design aesthetic

The serenity and warmth of Pan Pacific, both in terms of the interior and service, impress upon guests the moment they enter the hotel lobby. The very best attributes of Singaporean hospitality have been incorporated here – from subtle design references to carefully recruited staff members – yet with touches of traditional English design throughout.

This natural theme extends into the hotel’s 237 elegantly appointed guestrooms, where a muted colour palette, wooden panelling and neutral plaid carpeting create a calming ambiance. The expansive marble bathrooms feature a separate toilet, walk-in shower and bathtub, complete with luxury bathroom solutions from Laufen with the Kartell by Laufen wall hung pan.

Holistic hospitality design

Guest wellbeing runs through the very heart of the hotel, encompassing fitness, nutrition, treatments and mindfulness. This dedication manifests itself in the property’s 1,083 sq m world-class destination wellness floor. In addition to the dramatic 18.5 m infinity pool, there are sleeping pods, a sauna and steam rooms as well as soothing treatment rooms featuring the Kartell by Laufen washbasin.

Public washroom facilities complete the project for Laufen with the continuation and design consistency of the Kartell by Laufen washbasins and wall hung pans, alongside Caprino Urinals, as a design-led, robust solution.

Critical to the success of the project for Laufen has been the continuing collaboration with key stakeholders including the developer, UOL Group. Supported by longstanding Laufen ambassadors Carera Bathrooms Singapore, UOL Group, a leading developer in Singapore, specified the Kartell by Laufen wall hung toilet for Pan Pacific London, located at One Bishopsgate Plaza in the City of London. The 237-key luxury hotel is the developer’s flagship in Europe under its wholly owned subsidiary Pan Pacific Hotels Group.

Joyce Sng, general manager of product development at UOL Group, reflects on the collaboration: “We are very pleased with the results at Pan Pacific London. Laufen products have a great combination of design and quality, perfectly complementing the contemporary interiors by Yabu Pushelberg.”
