The fast-growing brand will soon have a foothold in Saudi Arabia after Hilton Worldwide signed up for a 185-room newbuild scheme in the capital Riyadh.

An internationally branded hotel is being lined up for a major mixed-use development in the Arabian Peninsula.

A strategic location

Hilton Worldwide has signed up to create Almashreq Hotel Riyadh, Curio Collection by Hilton in collaboration with Mashareq Investment, a partnership between Tatweer Group and Zamil Group. Earmarked for a 2024 debut, this newbuild property will sit within the upcoming Laysen Valley mixed-use development.

Amir Lababedi, managing director of development in Middle East and North Africa for Hilton, said: “This property further extends our offering into Riyadh, where we now have properties trading or under development across nine different brands. Its location forms part of one of the most exciting mixed-use developments in the city and developed by one of the country’s premier developers, Tatweer Group, which is set to become a hotspot for F&B as well as a desirable corporate location.”

Abdulaziz AlZamil, CEO of Mashareq Investment and Almashreq Hospitality, added: “We believe this is a great partnership that will add a valuable offering to our portfolio under the award-winning Almashreq hotels brand. We are very pleased to be working with Hilton and bringing the first Curio Collection by Hilton property to Saudi Arabia and look forward to further partnerships with Hilton in the Kingdom and the region.”

A future hub for business and leisure travel

Almashreq Hotel Riyadh, Curio Collection by Hilton will house 185 guestrooms, along with multiple dining and drinking venues catering for both hotel guests and the local community. Among the additional amenities proposed for the property are six meeting rooms, an indoor pool and a fitness centre.

Thanks to its location within the Laysen Valley development, meanwhile, the hotel will lie close to the city’s diplomatic quarter.

Jenna Hackett, global brand head for Curio Collection by Hilton, said: “Curio Collection has expanded to over 100 hotels in some of the world’s top urban markets, and we are thrilled to add Riyadh to our growing portfolio. Each Curio Collection property is handpicked for its one-of-a-kind story, and Almashreq Hotel Riyadh, Curio Collection by Hilton’s enviable location as part of the highly anticipated Laysen Valley project will offer a truly remarkable stay experience.”

Hilton currently operates 15 hotels in Saudi Arabia and has a further 46 under development.
