The historic Indian city of Amritsar is the latest locality on the subcontinent to welcome a Courtyard by Marriott property. The Courtyard-branded hotel in Amritsar will be the 18th hotel to come under this umbrella across the country.

Neeraj Govil, senior vice president, South Asia, Marriott International, spoke of the opening, saying, “Courtyard by Marriott is one of our fastest-growing brands globally and based on the success of the brand in India, we foresee tremendous opportunities for our newest addition in Amritsar.”

The hotel is conveniently located just 20 minutes from the international airport, and guests are close to the city’s main attraction, the Golden Temple, as well as other popular sites including the War Memorial, the Gobindgarh Fort and the Harike Bird Sanctuary.

Features and amenities

The hotel will attract business travellers as much as it will leisure tourists. The 104-key property benefits from 436m2 of banquet, conference and event space, as well as a meeting room which is fully connected to accommodate all corporate needs.

Guest rooms are fitted with all elements one would expect from a Marriott property and are comfortable, classically designed and adorned with local artwork.

The hotel’s main highlights are the rooftop cocktail bar which affords guests panoramic views of the city and the all-day dining restaurant where guests can sample local dishes crafted by chef Anirudh Deshpande.
