The 199-room Courtyard By Marriott Penang has opened its doors, focusing on attracting travellers looking for on-the-road fulfilment.
Based on the vibrant Macalister Road in the centre of Penang’s Unesco-listed George Town, Courtyard By Marriott Penang is the first Courtyard property in Malaysia. We take a closer look at this exciting new addition.

Based in George Town, Penang’s cosmopolitan urban centre, Courtyard By Marriott Penang is close to various tourist attractions, such as Chinese and Indian temples and mosques, as well as western-style skyscrapers and shopping complexes.

Marriott bolsters its presence in Malaysia
The rooms are smart and spacious, offering 360-degree views of George Town and the Straits of Malacca. Every room contains carefully considered amenities and an ergonomic work area, making them ideal for corporate or leisure visitors, and the lobby’s business centre provides guests with everything they need to keep the wheels of trade turning.

In terms of F&B, Courtyard By Marriott Penang has Penang Kitchen, a stylish all-day dining restaurant showcasing a combination of local cultures, including Malay, Nyonya, Chinese and Indian, as well as international cuisines. Moreover, Gin Library, set to open in the last quarter of 2020, will be the island’s first and only distillery-themed bar, sporting Anglo-Indian design features and serving a range of gin and malt whisky spirits and handmade cocktails.
Other amenities at the property include a 24-hour fitness centre, an outdoor infinity pool overlooking Penang Hill and dynamic public spaces created to help switch smoothly between work and relaxation. For events, the hotel has a pillarless ballroom with room for up to 150 guests; there are also eight state-of-the-art meeting rooms and one VIP room, each offering the latest audio-visual equipment.
