Highlights of this surge in hotel projects across Spain include new properties by Four Seasons and W Hotels in the popular coastal destination of Marbella.

A heightened hospitality scene

Of the 75 hotels, accounting for 14,225 new rooms, now on track to welcoming guests in 2022 and beyond, as many as 37 hotels are to have five-star status with another 38 properties in the four-star category.

These five star properties will together encompass 7,333 new rooms and the new four-star hotels are to altogether comprise 6,892 rooms.

New coastal retreats

Stand-out properties among these forthcoming openings include W Marbella and Four Seasons Marbella.

Expected to open early 2025, the five-star 240-key W Marbella will bring the signature W Hotels hospitality concept and experience to the Costa del Sol. Created by Sunrise Inversiones and Platinum Estates Limited in partnership with Marriott International, this property will showcase the architectural design of Rockwell Group.

Guests can expect spacious guest rooms including the brand’s Extreme Wow Suite, along with amenities including a signature restaurant, vibrant bar, an AWAY spa, FIT gym, two WET pool decks and event space including a covered terrace, as well as its own beach club and residences.

Four Seasons Marbella is then expected to open in the second quarter of 2025. The five-star property will be home to 120 rooms and suites, as well as residences, in a space also comprising an exhibition and congress hall, tennis club, business centre, botanical garden and beach.

Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts is developing the site in partnership with Villa Padierna Estates, RA Capital, Fort Partners and IMMOBEL, with the architecture of Richard Meier & Partners Architects and interior design of Tara Bernerd & Partners and Martin Brudnizki Design Studio.
