According to TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the United States will see over 1,500 new hotels open across the country soon.

A staggering 1,511 hotels and 301,928 rooms are currently in the United States’ hotel pipeline.

We find out more about where these properties will open, and which new hotels are worth keeping an eye on.

Years of solid growth lie ahead

614 hotels are slated to bring 112,617 rooms to the United States’ hotel market in 2020. However, due to the hotel industry being hit especially hard by the coronavirus crisis, some of these openings may be pushed back into 2021. For now, hoteliers and their partners can only wait and see how this situation will play out and when they can get back on track with their projects.

So far, 2021 already has 411 planned openings which will bring 80,121 rooms. 2022 will see another 162 hotels launch 44,752 rooms while 324 projects with 64,089 rooms are in the pipeline for 2023 and beyond.

The focus for the new properties is clearly on 4-star properties. With 1,169, they make up roughly three-quarters of the planned openings. The remaining 342 hotels will be in the 5-star segment.
