Four new hotel projects are on their way across Colombia’s sprawling capital city Bogotá

The TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database shows that 39 hotel projects are currently on the horizon in Colombia, with NH Hotels leading the charge.

In the next few years, 39 hotel schemes with 6,712 rooms will open across Colombia. We find out more about these upcoming launches.

Colombia’s hotel market growth by year

In 2021, 16 hotels will open their doors and bring 2,676 new keys. Two of them are already in the pre-opening phase and will begin welcoming guests early in the new year.

Looking ahead to 2022, 15 launches are scheduled in, introducing 2,891 rooms to the market. Things are likely to move more slowly in 2023, however, with only three planned openings and 361 keys. And for 2024, another five hotels with 784 rooms are already in the pipeline – though more are bound to be added nearer the time.

Of Colombia’s new hotels, two thirds (26) will be in the four-star sector. The remaining 13 will be in the five-star category.

Elsewhere, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has three projects with 600 rooms in the pipeline. And we shouldn’t overlook Riu Hotels & Resorts either – it’s working on two openings with 400 keys.
