Hilton Worldwide has struck a deal to bring its luxury Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand to the popular Costa del Sol region of southern Spain.

Hospitality giant Hilton has signed an agreement to open Conrad Costa del Sol on the Andalusian coast at the beginning of 2022.

We find out more about this ambitious high-end project.

Contemporary luxury on the Costa del Sol

The 194-room Conrad Costa del Sol will welcome guests to a luxurious haven in one of Spain’s top destinations when the property finally opens its doors. Visitors can expect to enjoy stunning sea views from both the hotel and the beach, which is only a five-minute drive away.

Spacious rooms and suites will overlook the breath-taking landscape and offer all of the modern conveniences that today’s travellers desire. Plus, two bars and a high-end restaurant will cater to any culinary cravings, while the vast spa with its indoor and outdoor pools will help patrons unwind and rest.

Carlos Miró, managing director, development – Spain and Portugal, Hilton, said: “The Costa del Sol is an incredibly popular destination with holidaymakers from all over Europe and beyond, thanks to its year-round good weather, expansive beaches and stunning scenery.

“This property – our first Conrad Hotels & Resorts property in Spain – represents an important step for Hilton, as we look to expand our footprint of luxury properties across Europe. We look forward to welcoming guests to this stunning hotel.”

A strong partnership

Although Conrad Costa del Sol will be managed by Hilton, it is owned by Markway Inversiones, a company under the umbrella of Platinum Estates Group. Platinum Estates, a Hong Kong-based real estate investment company owned by Roshni and Harry Mohinani, has invested in many hospitality projects around the world but has more recently focused on Spain where it has closed over €600 million of deals in the past six years.

Roshni Mohinani, president of Platinum Estates, said: “We are delighted to announce our agreement with Hilton to operate this hotel under the prestigious Conrad brand, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with our valued partners in the local community to bring this project to life. The beautiful Costa del Sol continues to attract domestic and international tourists alike, and we see great potential for investment in this area.”

Growing the Conrad brand

This new hotel will join an ever-growing portfolio of luxury Conrad properties around the world. In recent years, projects in top destinations such as the Algarve, the Maldives, Bali and Bora Bora have greatly expanded the brand’s footprint.

Nils-Arne Schroeder, global head for Conrad Hotels & Resorts, said: “From Bora Bora, Koh Samui and The Maldives in Asia to the Algarve and Istanbul in Europe, the Conrad brand is renowned for its award-winning hotels and resorts.

“This property, which exemplifies the contemporary design, beautiful facilities and connection to local culture with personalised experiences which guests expect from the Conrad brand, is a fitting first entry into Spain. We aim to bring the sophistication of the Conrad brand to key locations all over the world and we are looking forward to introducing our unique luxury to the Costa del Sol.”
