Data compiled by TOPHOTELPROJECTS gives insight into a significant 38 hotels set to open in Qatar’s capital city over the coming years.

In particular 2022 is set to be a busy year with as many as 27 projects currently on track to making their debut before the start of 2023.

Growing the hotel scene

Doha is soon to benefit from an influx of new hotels, with the 38 hotel projects on the TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database comprising 20 five-star properties and 18 four-star projects.

Altogether, these 38 hotel projects will encompass an impressive 9,414 new guest rooms for visitors to Doha. With the FIFA World Cup taking place here at the end of 2022, 27 hotels with a total of 7,082 guest rooms, are expected to open this year.

Another five hotels with a total of 1,145 rooms are expected to open in 2023, two hotels with 480 rooms between them are opening in 2024 and four hotels comprising 707 rooms are opening in 2025 and beyond.

Hospitality brands heightening their presence include NH Collection, Renaissance Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Garden Inn, which all have two new hotels opening in the city.

New landmark sites

Exciting hotel openings here include the late 2022 opening ME Doha and Swissôtel Doha Corniche Park Towers Hotel and Residences.

Currently under construction, the architecturally striking 235-key ME Doha is a part of the DohAlive development also encompassing lifestyle-driven shops, restaurants, a cinema complex and wellness facilities.

Catering to business and leisure travellers, the property will comprise three restaurants, a nightclub, three bars and an open-air cinema, a fitness centre, spa and panoramic infinity pool, along with business and convention facilities.

Swissôtel Doha Corniche Park Towers Hotel and Residences will then accommodate guests in the city’s West Bay area, close to commercial, government, corporate and leisure districts.

Swissôtel’s new Middle East flagship will come with 350 luxurious guest rooms and facilities including four restaurants, a health and fitness centre, swimming pool, spa and kids’ club, as well as 750 sq m of meeting space.

The property will also encompass branded residences with their own residential lounge, gym and private swimming pool.
