The TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database reveals that Jeddah’s hotel market will grow significantly in the coming years, with a raft of four- and five-star schemes on the way.

In the next few years, Jeddah will see 36 hotel schemes with 8,837 keys open their doors, our researchers report. We find out more about the Saudi Arabian city’s development pipeline – and take an in-depth look at its most exciting projects.

Jeddah’s hotel openings by year

Just three projects and 814 rooms are due to be completed before the end of 2021, the data suggests.

By contrast, 2022 will be the city’s busiest year overall, with 14 launches set to bring a total of 3,414 keys into play. In 2023, another nine hotels with 1,826 rooms will go live. And for 2024 and beyond, ten projects and 2,783 keys have already been pencilled in.

Of the 36 hotel projects that we’re currently tracking, 20 will be in the four-star category. The other 16 will be in the luxury five-star segment.

Upcoming hotel openings in Jeddah you should know about

Let’s take a closer look at three of the most exciting launches scheduled for 2022 and 2023.

Four Seasons Jeddah Corniche, which is expected to launch in early 2022, will be the first to open. Once completed, this towering project will house 275 rooms with stunning city and waterfront views. Showcasing architecture by SOM and interiors by Richmond Design, the hotel will also feature a variety of F&B options and public spaces.

The next one to watch is Vida Jeddah Gate, due to make its debut in Q1 2023. This hotel will offer 202 thoughtfully designed hotel rooms in the heart of Jeddah Gate, the elegant master-planned mixed-use development community by Emaar Middle East. Its amenities will include an all-day dining outlet, a signature restaurant, a bistro, events spaces that can host up to 120 guests, a spa and fitness centre, a pool and a kids club.

The last opening to look at, which will also complete in early 2023, is DoubleTree by Hilton Jeddah Al Salamah District. A 114-room hotel conveniently located just 10 km from King Abdulaziz International Airport, it’ll feature a fitness centre, outdoor pool and spa. Guests can also look forward to exploring the property’s all-day dining restaurant, lobby café, business centre, multifunctional meeting rooms and boardroom.
