The TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database shows that the French capital’s hotel market will grow further in the coming years, with a particular focus on luxury properties.

Paris, one of Europe’s top travel destinations, will see 35 new hotels with 6,770 rooms open in the next few years, according to our researchers. We take a closer look at the upcoming launches.

Hotel openings by year in Paris

Before 2021 runs out, 13 hotels will add 2,391 rooms to the City of Light’s offering.

For 2022, another nine hotels with 1,307 keys are in the pipeline, followed by six more projects with 1,530 rooms. Only seven schemes have been mooted for 2024 and beyond, but more are sure to be announced in the near future.

Of Paris’ 35 new hotels, 40% will be in the four-star segment, while 60% fall into the five-star category.

Stunning hotel projects underway in Paris

Located in the upscale 16th district, Le Belgrand Paris Champs Elysées, Tapestry Collection by Hilton will be close to the city’s top visitor attractions, including the iconic Arc de Triomphe. Once the existing building’s renovation and transformation into a four-star hotel is complete, the 46 rooms and public areas will boast a unique ambiance that reflects the location’s heritage. Exclusively curated artwork will also be found in all rooms and public areas of this eye-catching scheme, which is pencilled in to open in late 2021.

Tour Montparnasse, one of Paris’ tallest buildings, is currently undergoing a massive renovation. The skyscraper will grow by a further 18 metres in order to house an agricultural greenhouse and photovoltaic panels, as well as an expansive observatory with 360-degree views of the city. A 190-room hotel, occupying the 42nd through 45th floors, will also be added to the tower – it’s due to open in mid-2024.

Finally, the 129-key Zoku Paris will open on the outer edge of the city centre by Q3 2021. The new property will be located in the up-and-coming 19th district, adjacent to the RER station Rosa Parks and only a short walk from Gare du Nord, and form part of a mixed-use development combining hotel, residential and office facilities. Zoku Paris will debut the brand’s Pentloft concept, which is being specially designed for the Parisian market.
