Choice Hotels Europe has added Shoreline Hotel to its ranks – and announced the appointment of a director of corporate strategy and development, and head of franchise development.

This boutique hotel in Balcarrick, on the outskirts of the Irish capital, offers views of Lambay Island and Dublin Bay from its position on the peninsula of Donabate.

Newly refurbished, the 35-key Shoreline Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection provides the ideal base for accessing Dublin’s attractions, while also benefiting from direct beach access and views over the coastline. It’s home to all-day dining restaurant Shoreline Brasserie, plus a lounge bar, conference space and secured complimentary parking.

The property – linked to Dublin Airport 15km away via a complimentary shuttle service – has now teamed up with Choice Hotels Europe, part of Choice Hotels International.

Choice Hotels Europe CEO Jonathan Mills said: “I’m pleased this new hotel in Ireland is joining the Choice Hotels Europe portfolio, and I am confident guests will enjoy not only the location but the amenities it offers. The addition of this hotel supports our growth strategy and focus on investing in growing our business for our European stakeholders.”

Future growth

In a bid to drive further growth for Choice Hotels Europe, Adrian Ruch, who has been with the company for five years, has recently been elevated to the leadership team as director of corporate strategy and development. Ruch is focusing on the analysis, planning and execution of strategic growth.

Meanwhile, Rustom Vickers has been appointed head of franchise development. Working closely with the European commercial, finance and corporate development teams, Vickers is now responsible for the sustainable expansion of the European portfolio through the development of new franchise agreements and opportunities with existing franchisees.

Mills said: “As a newly appointed leadership team, we are committed to being proactive in shaping the future for all our franchisees, and in turn optimising the guest experience, especially during this important recovery period. As we continue to work to support our franchisees, I am confident our combination of market-specific knowledge and the specialist functional expertise of the leadership team will further strengthen the quality of service and support offered to Choice Hotels franchisees throughout Europe.”
