Centara to make Japanese debut

Thai hotel operator Centara Hotels & Resorts will have a presence in Japan for the first time thanks to a new site in Osaka.

Centara Grand Hotel Osaka will be a 33-storey tower that will become a new landmark when it opens in July this year.

Contemporary accommodation

This contemporary five-star hotel will feature 515 rooms and suites, ranging from 28-60 sq m and comprising standard, superior, deluxe, deluxe with bunk beds and suite options.

Every room is being outfitted with modern décor, king or twin beds, floor-to-ceiling windows and in-room amenities such as Nespresso machines, smart TVs, rain showers and high-speed Wi-Fi. Those staying on the executive floors (26-31) will receive exclusive services at the Club Lounge.

Gastronomic options

The property will include an eclectic collection of restaurants and bars. Kunsei Kitchen is a top floor smokehouse where innovative cuisine is paired with fine wines and panoramic views, while Whiskey Nova is a 32nd floor steakhouse where prime meats can be accompanied with an extensive collection of whiskeys and wines. Embassy of Crab showcases seafood, including its signature crab dishes, and Suan Bua reflects Centara’s Thai heritage with authentic Southeast Asian street food.

Light daytime bites and homemade pastries will be served at Platform 2 Café, Automata will be a futuristic self-service cocktail bar on the 32nd floor where guests can create their own drinks, and Crudo Deck is a 90 sq m alfresco rooftop venue serving food and cocktails, which will double as an event setting  

Events and wellness

Corporate travellers and meeting planners can also utilise a 351 sq m Grand Ballroom, which can be flexibly divided into two smaller spaces, and three other meeting rooms ranging from 26 to 30 sqm.

Guests will also have access to a fitness centre and a Thai-inspired Spa Cenvaree, which features four treatment rooms, a foot massage area and Thai massage room.

Important milestone

Another Centara Grand site taking shape in Asia is Centara Grand Beach Resort Jin Tai Hainan on the Chinese island of Hainan. The 350-room five-star hotel is due to complete in Q2 2023. Elsewhere, Centara Al Bustan Hotel Doha will bring 167 keys to Qatar in Q4 this year, while in the same quarter, Centara Hotel Kiri Nakhon Si Thammarat will add 350 keys to southern Thailand.
