The Emporium Plovdiv – MGallery is to make its debut this spring in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv.

The Accor hotel collection is making its mark on a historic building transformed with a new design concept integrating smart technology and stories of the area.

Celebrating local heritage

On opening in spring 2022, The Emporium Plovdiv – MGallery will introduce guests to Europe’s cultural capital of 2019 and the second largest city in Bulgaria, Plovdiv.

This hotel takes over and preserves the original features of the former department store and local landmark, Evmolpia. The original architectural features have been integrated into the design of the hotel, which fuses a reflection of Bulgarian history with modern design.

This will be the first property in the Balkans for the chain to introduce its Smart Rooms concept enhancing the hotel experience with innovative technology.

The property is centrally located and within walking distance of sites such as The Roman Forum, Roman Stadium and UNESCO World Heritage sites: Bishop’s Basilica of Philippopolis and the Old Town.

Designed for guests and locals

This five-star property encompasses 61 guest rooms, including 12 suites, with technology allowing guests to adjust ambience and control the audio-visual functions. This will also be the chain’s first property to offer luxury Fragonard cosmetics.

The award-winning Sundukovy Sisters S+S design firm led the design of this property’s interiors and the French Shams Conseils Paris company developed the hotel’s signature scent.

Facilities here will include relaxation and fitness zones and venues for both guests and locals including the country’s only Moët & Chandon Champagne Bar & Cocktail.

Dining experiences here include the gourmet restaurant Torro Premio, highlighting local produce in modern Bulgarian dishes, and the restaurant and sushi bar Torro Grande.
