Buenos Aires Marriott Hotel starts welcoming guests [Construction Report]

This striking 298-room scheme, run by Gotel Hotel Management, is Argentina’s first Marriott Hotels property since 2013.
Newly converted from its previous incarnation as Hotel Panamericano Buenos Aires, Marriott’s latest outpost boasts a prominent position on the city’s iconic 9 de Julio Avenue. We find out more.
Strategic expansion for Marriott
Located on the major thoroughfare named after Argentina’s Independence Day, Buenos Aires Marriott Hotel provides a place for guests to stay at the heart of the capital with easy access to famous sites such as the Obelisk, Teatro Colón and the Palace of Justice. This setting makes the hotel well-suited to accommodating both business and leisure travellers in equal measure.
The new hotel is being managed by Gore Hotel Management, a business belonging to Grupo Hoteles Panamericano that was established to collaborate on the expansion of Marriott brands in the Southern Cone while operating its own, as well as third-party, hotels.
“We are thrilled to work with Gore Hotel Management and bring the Marriott Hotels brand back to Argentina after so many years,” said Laurent de Kousemaeker, chief executive officer for Marriott International in the Caribbean and Latin America. “This opening marks the beginning of a new stage for Marriott International in this coveted destination where the European style is deeply intertwined with the Latin American culture.”
“We are proud to be working with Marriott International in the development and management of all its brands as a strategic partner in the Southern Cone,” added Marcelo Ubach, CEO of Grupo Hoteles Panamericano.

Space that nurtures creativity
From its privileged location, the hotel offers 360-degree panoramic views over celebrated neighbourhoods such as San Telmo, Recoleta and Puerto Madero. The building itself exhibits porteño design and is distinguished by two towers displaying the classic French-inspired architecture seen throughout Buenos Aires.
In each of its hotels, Marriott aims to create spaces that inspire and nurture guests’ creativity, and this property has been designed with the same ethos in mind, balancing functionality with comfort and style. Along with creative workspaces, the state-of-the-art amenities available here include high-speed wifi, HDTV, a Mobile Check-In, Mobile Check-Out service and a Mobile Key application for accessing keys through a smartphone. Additionally, the Mobile Chat and Mobile Guest services allow visitors to submit requests before and after, as well as during, their stays.
Meanwhile, the hotel’s new food and beverage offering ranges from the Lobby Bar on the first floor to La Luciernaga restaurant, which specialises in Argentine and Mediterranean cuisine, and a sophisticated Irish bar, the Celtic Pub. Other facilities within the hotel include Nivel 23 Club & Spa, a 24-hour gym and The MClub reserved exclusively for Marriott Bonvoy members.
