Brand overview: Ramada by Wyndham plans 36 hotels in APAC [Construction Report]

Of the 48 projects in Ramada’s pipeline, the majority are planned for APAC.
Ramada by Wyndham, a brand offering world travellers convenience and excellent service, is looking to expand heavily in the Asia Pacific region.
We find out when and where Ramada will open its newest properties and which ones are especially noteworthy.
A strong focus on APAC
Currently, Ramada by Wyndham has 48 4-star projects in its pipeline which will add 8,646 rooms to the brand’s portfolio.
Of these, 36 properties will open around the APAC region and bring it 6,483 new rooms. The Middle East is the second-fastest-growing region for the brand but is still far behind Asia with only 7 openings and 1,342 rooms.
Europe will see two Ramada properties open, while Africa, North and South America will each get one.
2020 is Ramada’s year
Of its 48 planned openings, 31 are set to happen in 2020, making it by far Ramada’s busiest year. 10 more launches are scheduled for 2021 while none are on the books for 2022 as of now. 7 more hotels are planned for 2023 and beyond.
Noteworthy Ramada projects
In September 2020, the Ramada Resort St. Kitts plans to launch the first area of a new-build, 273-room resort. Only a 15-minute drive from the local airport, the resort will boast a mix of sea-view, pool and garden villas. Hotel amenities will include a conference space, a bar, a restaurant, a cultural centre and a swimming pool, among others.
The Ramada Shanwei is scheduled for late 2020 and will bring 294 rooms to the harbour city in China’s Guangdong Province. Primarily geared towards business travellers, the hotel is set close to the Shanwei Railway Station and will offer guests several restaurants, a grand ballroom and other meeting spaces as well as a gym and health club.
At the beginning of 2021, the Ramada Plaza Grand Himalai will open on the sandy shores of Thailand’s Phuket Island. The 426-room hotel will be close to the beautiful Kamala Beach and feature glass-edged swimming pools, a beach and fitness club, a luxury spa with a sauna and dining venues with breath-taking views of the sea.
