Brand overview: Novotel to grow by 70 hotels

A peek into the TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database shows that Novotel is planning 70 hotel openings around the world in the coming years.

Novotel has 70 hotels with 17,098 rooms in its global pipeline, our researchers can reveal. We find out when and where these new properties will go live.

Novotel hotel openings by year

In total, 28 launches with 5,534 rooms are scheduled for 2021 – of which six are already in the pre-opening phase.

A further 11 openings with 2,596 keys are pencilled in for 2022, while only four are currently on the books for 2023. For 2024 and beyond, another 27 are already in the works.

Interestingly, 27 are in various phases of construction right now, while another 32 are still in the planning stage.

Novotel’s main growth regions

APAC will see the most openings overall, with 20 projects and 5,870 rooms on the cards. Europe follows close behind in second, though, with 16 upcoming launches and 3,066 new rooms.

The Middle East takes third with 13 new hotels and 4,958 keys, and Africa is hot on its heels with 12 projects and 2,014 rooms. South America is next with six launches and 832 keys, and North America concludes the list with a pipeline of three hotels and 358 rooms.

In terms of national growth markets, Saudi Arabia leads the pack with eight ongoing projects and 3,847 keys. China and Germany follow with four hotels each and 1,635 and 722 rooms respectively.

New Novotel properties you should know about

First up, Novotel Riyadh Olaya will have 215 inviting guest rooms designed by PLUStudios and offer meeting spaces, a fitness centre, wellness facilities and a swimming pool with a deck. Guests will be able to take advantage of the property’s all-day dining provision, as well as its lobby lounge with a cafe corner, and 24/7 room service. The hotel will be located on Olaya Street in the northern part of the Saudi capital, only 35 km from King Khaled International Airport.

Set in one of Doha’s prime areas, meanwhile, Novotel Doha West Bay will be part of Al Baker Hotel Towers. The 53-floor hotel will incorporate 396 rooms and suites, as well as a variety of dining venues and leisure facilities. Albaker Architects and the interior designers of Bluu Qatar are giving this property a dynamic appearance ahead of its expected launch in Q2 2021.

Lastly, Novotel Mexico City Insurgentes will be situated in front of World Trade Center Mexico City, one of the country’s most important business hubs. The 106-room hotel will feature a signature GourmetBar and Meet N Work space, which promises to be ideal for remote work and meetings. The opening date has been set for Q2 2021.
