Brand overview: Hyatt Place to grow global footprint by 89 properties [Infographic]

by | 28 Nov 2021 | Hotel Projects, Projects

The TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database reveals that Hyatt Place is planning to embark upon a significant expansion programme, especially in APAC and North America.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s upscale Hyatt Place brand will grow considerably in the coming years – it currently has 89 projects with 15,938 rooms in the pipeline, according to our researchers. We find out more about Hyatt Place’s development ambitions.

Hyatt Place openings by year

Before 2021 runs out, seven new Hyatt Place properties with a total of 1,626 keys are scheduled to go live. Another 26 schemes will follow in 2022, adding 4,620 keys to the brand’s offering.

2023 will be the busiest year of the lot, with 31 projects and 5,377 rooms due for completion. Finally, for 2024 and beyond, 25 more properties with 4,315 keys have already been proposed..

Key growth regions for Hyatt Place

Hyatt Place will see by far the most growth in APAC – here, 45 hotels with 8,999 rooms will open soon. China is the fastest growing national market in this region, with 32 schemes and 6,687 keys on the books, well ahead of nearest challenger India, which will see eight projects with 1,233 rooms throw open their doors.

With 35 additional properties and 5,225 rooms, North America’s another major engine of growth for the brand. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the US accounts for the lion’s share of this activity, with 25 projects and 3,722 keys lined up.

Things are moving comparatively slowly for Hyatt Place in the rest of the world. There are six projects on the cards in Europe, two in Latin America and just one in the Middle East.

Interesting Hyatt Place properties on the horizon

By mid-2022, Hyatt Place Krakow will open its doors. The 216-room hotel will be in an upscale neighbourhood west of the city centre, just a 15-minute walk from the famous National Museum, Jagiellonian University and Old Town. It’ll incorporate 300 sq m of practical meeting space plus a 180 sq m workout area connected to a relaxation zone offering dry and steam saunas, as well as two F&B outlets, the Zoom restaurant and the Lobby Bar.

Over in Germany, Hyatt Place Düsseldorf Mercedesstraße will be ready to launch by mid-2024. Forming part of the wider Tadao Ando Campus & Tower development, this 300-room hotel will sit alongside a stunning glass tower and offices. Importantly, the city’s international airport, trade fair grounds and Messe Düsseldorf conference centre will be only a ten-minute drive away too.
