Hilton Worldwide’s extended-stay brand Home2 Suites by Hilton is set to grow steadily in the coming years with some impressive properties opening around the US.

The Virginia-headquartered hospitality giant is rapidly expanding its Home2 Suites by Hilton brand due to the ongoing rise in demand for extended-stay hotels.

In the coming years, the brand will grow by 72 hotels and a total of 8,341 rooms in North America, the TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database reveals.

We find out more about the upcoming openings and which projects to keep an eye on.

Steady growth in the near future

In 2020, Home2 Suites by Hilton plans to introduce 43 new hotels with 4,829 keys, of which 29 properties are already in the pre-opening phase. Depending on how the situation around Covid19 continues to play out around the US, however, some of these schemes may be delayed until 2021.

Even without counting possibly postponed launches, 2021 will see nine properties go live with 1,089 rooms in total. Another ten will open in 2022, and ten more are planned for 2023 and beyond.

Home2 Suites by Hilton projects to keep on your watchlist

Below we’ve picked out a few Home2 Suites by Hilton projects that really stand out from the crowd.

The 272-room Home2 Suites by Hilton Flamingo Crossings Town Center is slated to open in late 2020 in Winter Garden, Florida. This property will be part of a 997-room development at the western entrance of the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. Apart from the four hotels, this mixed-use complex will also include retail, dining venues, and housing for students participating in Disney internships and college programmes.

There may be a trend with Home2 Suites by Hilton properties opening close to Disney theme parks. Before the end of the year, the 100-room Home2 Suites by Hilton Anaheim will launch just two blocks from Disneyland Resort and will feature a host of family-friendly amenities. This project will be part of a dual-brand property, also home to a Hilton Garden Inn.

Ontario in Canada is currently home to the only Home2 Suites by Hilton project outside the US. The 120-room Home2 Suites by Hilton Markham will be part of a dual-brand property with Tru by Hilton. This hotel will feature modern facilities such as a spacious lobby with areas meant for working, playing and socialising, and high-tech amenities including mobile check-in and digital keys. Meanwhile, the ‘Top It’ breakfast concept will allow guests to choose from 30 sweet and savoury toppings to create their own morning masterpieces.

Lastly, Minnesota-based JR Hospitality will soon begin work on a dual-branded hotel in downtown Minneapolis, which will house the city’s first Home2 Suites by Hilton and Tru by Hilton hotels. These properties are the companies’ 11th and 12th joint ventures together in the greater Minneapolis-Saint Paul area.
