Our researchers report that Hilton Worldwide is planning to grow the Hilton Garden Inn brand by 134 hotels and 24,271 rooms in the next few years. We take a closer look at the key facts and figures.
Hilton Garden Inn hotel openings by year
The remainder of 2021 is shaping up to be pretty hectic for Hilton Garden Inn – 43 hotel projects with 7,711 rooms are slated to launch this year alone. It’s a similar story in 2022 as 47 openings and 8,575 keys have already been lined up for next year.
In 2023, 18 hotels with 3,504 rooms are due for completion, while another 26 schemes and 4,481 keys are currently in the pipeline for 2024 and beyond.
Hilton Garden Inn’s top regional growth markets
Hilton Garden Inn will see by far the most growth in the APAC region – a hugely impressive 51 hotels with 10,638 keys will launch there in the years ahead. China is the leading national market here, with 38 properties and 7,778 rooms in the works at present.
A further 32 projects are on the books in North America, bringing 4,765 extra rooms into play. Of these, 29 schemes and 4,391 keys are located in the US.
Europe takes third place overall, with 21 properties and 3,309 keys on their way. Poland is the most dynamic national market here, courtesy of its seven new hotels and 1,050 rooms.
Further down the rankings, 14 projects with 3,152 keys have been mooted for the Middle East, which is still more than both Latin America (nine properties, 1,149 rooms) and Africa (seven hotels, 1,258 keys).
Noteworthy properties in Hilton Garden Inn’s pipeline
Opening in Q2 2021, Hilton Garden Inn Toulouse will have 289 rooms in total. This property will be part of MEETT, a massive complex boasting a convention centre and multiple exhibition spaces. Toulouse Blagnac Airport is only a 15-minute drive away, and the city centre is reachable via tram in 40 minutes.
In Egypt, Hilton Garden Inn Cairo East will throw open its doors in 2024. This 250-room hotel will offer a full-service restaurant, two bars, a fitness centre, an outdoor pool and a 300 sq m meeting space. Cairo International Airport, the New Administrative Capital and several renowned educational facilities are handily located nearby, which should help make this property a practical base for both business and leisure guests.
Last but not least, Hilton Garden Inn Kyoto Shijo Karasuma will be the brand’s first property in Japan. Set to open in 2022, it’ll incorporate 250 rooms, a full-service restaurant and bar, a fitness room, and The Shop, a 24-hour, self-service retail space. The hotel will be close to popular attractions such as the Gion district and Nijo Castle, the famous Unesco World Heritage Site.
