Brand overview: Aloft on the up with 47 planned openings [Infographic]

A peek inside the TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database reveals that Marriott International’s brand will grow its footprint in the coming years, especially in North America.
Aloft Hotels currently has 47 hotels with 8,797 rooms in its pipeline, according to our researchers. We take a closer look at these projects and find out more about the brand’s expansion plans.
Aloft’s hotel opening schedule
In the next few years, Aloft will see a steady stream of new hotels open their doors.
For the rest of 2021, ten projects with 1,311 keys are due for completion. A further 14 schemes and 2,123 rooms will be delivered in 2022, followed by ten developments with 2,208 keys in 2023, and 13 properties with 3,155 rooms in 2024.
Aloft’s regional focus
The lifestyle brand will grow most rapidly in North America – 29 projects with 4,500 rooms are in the pipeline here, of which 27 schemes and 4,220 keys relate to the US alone.
It’ll also be a busy period for the APAC region, which will see eight properties with 1,593 rooms go live. China is proving to be a particularly fruitful market for Aloft – no fewer than seven developments and 1,317 keys are being lined up for the People’s Republic.
Elsewhere, both the Middle East and Europe will get four additional Aloft hotels, with 1,673 and 745 keys respectively – including two projects spanning 478 rooms in the UAE.
New Aloft hotels you should know about
Aloft New York Chelsea North is slated to launch in early 2021. A 43-storey tower will boast 379 guestrooms overlooking the city’s skyline, while on the lower levels, over 200,000 sq ft of commercial space will be given over to shops and restaurants. Given the building’s design, it’s likely that a rooftop terrace will crown the tower, offering guests sweeping views of the Big Apple.
On the other side of the globe, in Malaysia, Aloft Seri Kembangan will launch by late 2024. This 276-key property will cater for business and conference guests with 19,310 sq ft of versatile meeting space and top-notch audiovisual equipment. Kuala Lumpur’s international airport is also only a short drive away, adding to the property’s overall appeal.
Further north, in China, Aloft Chongqing Tianyu Wisdom Valley will open in mid-2022. The development of this 200-room property is the result of a successful collaboration between Tianyu Real Estate and Marriott International. Business guests will no doubt approve of its proximity to several major employers, while leisure travellers will be able to enjoy the shops and vast green spaces nearby.
