Bill Marriott sabe algunas cosas sobre hoteles.

Fairfield by Marriott recibió a su hotel número 1000 el mes pasado, el Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Denver Tech Center North.

Para J.W. Marriott, Fairfield lo hacía acordar a su infancia en el campo en Utah, y en los años 60 y 70, Farfield se convirtió en el anfitrión de picnics y reuniones para empresas.

Marriott planea hacer crecer aún más la marca Fairfield de 2019 en adelante. La expansión está programada para China, México, India y los Estados Unidos, y hay planes adicionales para asentar en presencia en Japón, Colombia, Costa Rica, Perú y Chile.

Para celebrar su propiedad número 1000, así como el futuro de la marca, Fairfield les dará a los huéspedes sorpresas al llegar.

Marriott dijo: “para celebrar nuestro hotel número 1.000, cada Fairfield en los Estados Unidos y Canadá ofrece a los huéspedes brownies de cortesía en el check-in durante el mes de mayo, inspirados en la famosa receta de brownies de mi madre”.

Bill Marriott is reflecting on the group’s development by celebrating a milestone in one of its most treasured brands

Celebrating Fairfield by Marriott’s 1,000th hotel

Bill Marriott knows a thing or two about hotels.

As the son of Marriott founders Alice and J. Willard, and a member of the hotel’s board since 1964, he has seen the group go from family-run business to international hospitality giant and has lived to tell the tale.

So, perhaps it’s no wonder that at 87, he is reflecting on the group’s development by celebrating a milestone in one of its most treasured brands, Fairfield.

Fairfield by Marriott welcomed its 1000th hotel last month, the Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Denver Tech Center North.

Fairfield joins Courtyard in reaching this achievement, making them the only two out of thirty Marriott brands to lay claim to it.

Marriott family history in Fairfield

The Fairfield brand has a special place in Bill Marriott’s heart and at the heart of the Marriott group.

“I’ve always loved the Fairfield brand, and not just because it offers great value for guests. The brand was inspired by my family’s weekend retreat – the Fairfield Farm in Hume, VA. My parents, J.W. and Alice Marriott, bought the farm in 1951. It was a place we’d go as a family to escape the noise of the city, to reflect on the beauty of nature, and to spend quality time together. The Fairfield brand today embraces that same calming sensibility of warm hospitality and treating our guests like they’re family,” said Bill Marriott in a post on LinkedIn.

Fairfield reminded J.W. Marriott of his childhood farm in Utah, and in the 60s and 70s, it played host to company picnics and get-togethers.

The Fairfield spirit in 2019

Marriott plans to grow the Fairfield brand even further in 2019 and beyond. Expansion is set to take place China, Mexico, India and the U.S., and there are further plans to become a presence in Japan, Colombia, Costa Rica, Peru and Chile.

To celebrate their 1000th property, as well as the brand’s future, Fairfield will be giving guests surprise treats upon arrival.

Marriott said, “To celebrate our 1,000th hotel milestone, every Fairfield in the U.S. and Canada is offering guests complimentary brownies at check-in during the month of May, inspired by my mom’s famous brownie recipe.”
