As it adds seven more hotels to its portfolio, the Beyond Green brand builds an ever stronger global presence for guests seeking adventure with sustainability.

Sustainable hotel brand Beyond Green has added a further seven hotels to its international portfolio, celebrating the best of nature while providing great hospitality.

Africa features strongly, with three additions in Botswana and a tented camp in Kenya. In Europe, hotels have joined in Austria and the UK, while the final addition is in Costa Rica.

Meeting strict criteria

Beyond Green, which is part of the Preferred Travel Group, admits only properties that adhere to a strict set of operating guidelines. Each one is measured against 50 sustainability indicators, which are aligned with the standards of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

To date, the Beyond Green portfolio has grown to offer almost 50 sustainable accommodation choices for guests across 20 countries, “With each addition, we continue to uphold our commitment to using travel as a positive force for change, these properties strengthen our shared vision of fostering a more sustainable and responsible future for both travelers and the planet,” said Beyond Gren CEO Lindsey Ueberroth.

The three Botswana properties are in the country’s Okavango Delta, and really are niche offerings. Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp has just nine tented suites, while Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge has a mix of different suites, blending into the forest canopy. Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp is located in the same region, allowing guests to take a safari tent overlooking a seasonal lagoon. All three properties are off grid, and use extensive solar and battery equipment to minimise the need for generators to run.

In Kenya, a larger tented camp has joined Beyond Green, situated on the edge of the Masai Mara. Kichwa Tembo Tented Camp has 40 Masai-inspired tents for guests to enjoy, with organic food prepared from ingredients grown in the camp’s garden.

A wellness haven

In Europe, the Bio- and Wellnessresort Stanglwirt sits at the base of the Alps near the famous Kitzbuhl ski area in Austria, based on a structure that was first built over 400 years ago. The wellness resort features saunas, steam baths and outdoor pursuits that range from horse riding, tennis and winter skiing. The hotel enjoys spring-fed water, and has its own hydropower plant. And in the UK, Swinton Park Hotel is based around a historic castle, set in more than 200 acres of parkland. The hotel plants a tree for every guest that comes to stay, with natural conservation at the core of its activities.

The seventh addition to Beyond Green is the SCP Corcovado Wilderness Lodge in Costa Rica. It combines the restfulness of a retreat in the heart of nature, with the opportunity for guests to enjoy adventure including hiking, kayaking, fishing and diving.

As part of the Preferred group, all the Beyond Green hotels participate in Preferred’s I Prefer loyalty scheme, allowing guests to earn and spend points across more than 650 hotels around the world.
