Avani launches Avani+ in Laos
Avani Hotels and Resorts is continuing to expand its presence in its native Asia market with the opening of a new hotel in Luang Prabang, Laos. The Avani+ Luang Prabang was set to open on March 1st this year, and will be the latest property in Avani’s portfolio, which already spans 15 countries in a number of different markets. Their current key count totals more than 3,500 in 21 properties, with a further 3,000 keys ahead of them in the pipeline. These are impressive numbers from a hotel group that has only been operating since 2011, and the new property in Laos will mark the first hotel in the group’s new luxury brand, Avani+. The hotel will be located in the historic town of Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and sited on a peninsula which overlooks the confluence of the Nam Khan and Mekong Rivers. The 53-room hotel is inspired by various different influences, and the group’s press release on the design of the hotel says, “The French Neoclassical architectural design resembles the style of the grand villas found in Luang Prabang. The guest rooms offer an open plan living experience with French-styled louvered wooden doors that open out to a balcony overlooking either the pool or a private courtyard. The interior design draws inspiration from its colonial French heritage, yet the design approach is modern, functional and elegant.” It is located close to the famous night market where locals sell a range of exquisite handicrafts.
Lifestyle hotel with millennial appeal
Avani markets itself as a ”true lifestyle brand”, and aims to offer guests unique experiences that are emblematic of the destinations the hotel is in. With Avani+, Avani Hotels and Resorts is gearing its new brand towards discerning millennial travelers, who value both a luxurious place to stay, as well as integrated health and fitness facilities as well as sustainable tourism. Avani+ Luang Prabang will take full advantage of the incredible setting in Laos, and offer guests the chance to partake in a number of different activities that can be organised directly through the hotel, such as overnight Mekong River cruises and a guided hike up Mount Phousi, as well as trips to waterfalls, biking, antique shopping, cooking classes and visits to the area’s many Buddhist temples. There will also be the possibility to attend daily yoga classes, and indulge in fresh and healthy smoothies and juices from the pool bar.
