Designed by DiLeonardo and Chipman Design Architecture, The LaSalle Hotel in Chicago will operate as a member of Marriott International’s Autograph Collection when it opens next year.

This forthcoming luxury property is taking over part of a historic building in the centre of Chicago’s Loop.

A high-profile opening

In what promises to be an exciting addition to one of the largest cities in the US, The LaSalle Hotel is expected to open its doors in February 2022. It’ll span the five top floors of the landmark building at 208 South LaSalle, adjacent to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, and cater for business and leisure travellers in a space celebrating the elegance of the iconic 1909-opened LaSalle Hotel.

“We are excited to bring the sophistication and luxury of the original LaSalle Hotel back to the centre of Chicago’s financial district,” said general manager Stefan Gruvberger. “Our guests will have access to all the best that Chicago has to offer within minutes of our front door. We look forward to helping guests explore this amazing city and create unforgettable memories.”

Heritage-inspired luxury

The new luxury hotel has been brought to life by DiLeonardo and Chipman Design Architecture with art deco flourishes befitting this historic building designed by Daniel Burnham in 1920. On completion, the property will house 232 luxury guestrooms and suites distinguished by elegant furnishings, millwork, cabinetry and marble-clad bathrooms, along with signature restaurant and lounge Grill on 21, a library retreat and solarium, a state-of-the-art fitness centre and event space spanning more than 7,500 sq ft.

Michael W Reschke, chairman and CEO of The Prime Group, said: “We know that both business and leisure travellers coming to Chicago continue to look for the best hotels to gather and stay. The LaSalle Hotel will offer our guests a true luxury experience at every turn, from a central downtown location that makes it easy to traverse the city to bespoke accommodations, food and beverage, and concierge services that make every stay extraordinary.”

Developed and owned by The Prime Group and managed by Aimbridge Hospitality, The LaSalle Hotel will be operated as part of Marriott International’s prestigious Autograph Collection brand.
