Veriu Group’s Punthill Apartment Hotels brand is continuing its expansion in its Australian home market with the announcement of a third location in New South Wales.

The apartment hotel accommodation model roll out is now moving into Sydney’s rapidly expanding southwest corridor in 2024.

Mixed-use landmark

Punthill Liverpool will be part of mixed-use development The Liverpool by Fyve. The hotel will be an anchor tenant of the landmark project, which will also feature 193 apartments, 6,500 sq m of commercial space, and a range of ground-floor retail tenancies.

The 93-key aparthotel will comprise a mix of modern studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments – each one including a fully-equipped kitchen, balcony, desk and fast internet. Alongside this, conference and meeting facilities, secure on-site parking, a gym and a guest laundry, will cater to both the corporate and leisure market, with the new property designed to deliver the ease and accessibility of the office with all the comforts of home.

Groundbreaking ceremony

Veriu Group’s CEO, Zed Sanjana, joined development partners and Fyve co-founders, Amen Zoabi and Khalil Hafza at a groundbreaking ceremony for the project (pictured). Sanjana said the decision to open the hotel within the mixed-use development was a logical one.

Also in attendance were Chris Kelly, general manager of Binah, the project’s construction partner; Liverpool City Council mayor Ned Mannoun and deputy mayor Mazhar Hadid.

Pipeline properties

The Punthill brand’s Australian expansion is progressing apace, with Punthill Apartment Hotel Essendon North opening in Melbourne suburb Essendon by the end of this year. The site will feature 40 apartments across studio and one-bedroom layouts.

Further ahead, the 106-key Punthill Norwest will open in 2023 on the outskirts of Sydney in the Hills District; a second New South Wales property Punthill Maitland will bring 76 rooms to Maitland in Q4 2023; and the 15-level, 80-key Punthill Geelong will arrive in Victoria state in Q2 2024.
