IHG’s new-look Holiday Inn format has arrived down under with the launch of a 150-key property in Melbourne, complete with an open lobby concept and high-quality F&B.
The past 18 months have seen the ubiquitous hotel brand undergo a global transformation to introduce a whole new design approach, which is reflected in the look and feel of Holiday Inn Werribee.
A fresh take on hospitality
Holiday Inn is now welcoming guests to central Werribee, one of Melbourne’s fastest growing areas. This purpose-built property houses 150 contemporary guestrooms, the new open lobby concept, and an onsite bar and restaurant, as well as ample meeting space. From the top four floors of 22 Synnot Street, the hotel also offers impressive vistas over Werribee and the Melbourne skyline.
Transforming the traditional lobby concept, the property’s open lobby is designed around how people use space at home, giving guests a place to eat, relax, work and socialise in one space.
“Reliably familiar, yet refreshingly different, Holiday inn Werribee is a comfortable and inviting home away from home,” said Preston Miskelly, general manager of Holiday Inn Werribee. “Our open lobby with its floor-to-ceiling windows and amazing views not only gives our guests a warm and welcoming place to relax, work or socialise, it is also home to our modern restaurant and bar. It is the ideal location to enjoy dinner or drinks with family and friends as you watch the sun go down.”
Designed for the modern traveller
The hotel’s spacious, modern, light-filled rooms come with comfortable bedding, large TVs and free unlimited high-speed wifi.
Each public space is designed with the modern traveller in mind. Guests can unwind or work in the contemporary lounge area with an e-Bar, and all-day dining is offered at Rosana Bistro & Bar, where modern Australian cuisine highlights fresh produce from the Werribee region.
The hotel places guests within easy reach of popular attractions such as Werribee Open Range Zoo, Werribee Mansion, Victorian State Rose Garden and the National Equestrian Centre. The Watton Street foodie hub is also within walking distance, and Werribee Mercy Hospital is a short drive away.
This opening signifies the beginning of a period of significant growth for the Holiday Inn brand in Australasia. Holiday Inn Remarkables Park, Queenstown is due to open in October 2021 and Holiday Inn Melbourne Bourke Street Mall is expected to launch in 2022.
