A makeover by Leo A Daly and ultra-luxurious amenities, including a fleet of private jets, promise to set this scheme apart as a truly exclusive Caribbean retreat.

On track to make its debut this November, the resort aims to shape the future of the island, combining an appreciation of its natural beauty with a sense of place that honours Anguilla’s traditions and culture.

Paying tribute to the island

Transforming the former Resorts & Residences by CuisinArt, Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club will encapsulate the new vision of owner Olympus Ventures, focusing on providing transformational experiences and community connection. Spanning 300 acres, the resort’s headline-grabbing amenities will include a fleet of private jets exclusive to the resort, a culinary offering overseen by top chef Abram Bissell and an 18-hole Greg Norman Signature Design championship golf course.

The scheme’s revamped design, overseen by Leo A Daly, will be inspired by the laidback vibe of the island, with its completion rolled out in phases – ultimately refreshing all public spaces, guestrooms and suites. Bright, airy spaces will integrate natural materials and highlights of the resort’s signature shade of orange, which references the sunset, and the deep blue of Rendezvous Bay.

“After a 22-year run of Resorts & Residences by CuisinArt, a legend comes to an end and an exciting journey begins with this groundbreaking new brand,” said Simon A Fricker, managing director for Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club. “Guided by a forward-thinking vision and the commitment to celebrating the destination, Aurora Anguilla will invite today’s luxury traveller to experience the island in ways that had never before been possible, paving the way for unforgettable escapes.”

From gastronomy to golf

To come up with the culinary vision for the resort, Bissell has immersed himself in the local community. The chef’s move to Anguilla follows years spent in some of New York’s finest restaurants, including leading the kitchens at Michelin-star magnets The Modern and Eleven Madison Park.

Bissell has created a programme that honours Anguilla’s culinary heritage and makes the most of the ingredients grown, caught and reared here. Guests can expect dishes exhibiting a refined twist on Anguillan cuisine, along with the chef’s signature new-American, ingredient-driven cooking – ingredients will be taken from the resort’s Hydroponic Farm and Orchard each day.

Another key selling point will be the Aurora International Golf Club, the only golf course on the island, which is to debut alongside the resort following a remastering overseen by Greg Norman Golf Course Design. Its amenities will include practice facilities, locker rooms, space for recovery therapies and a restaurant overseen by Bissell. A nine-hole Greg Norman-designed golf course will also be introduced.

A wellness sanctuary called Sorana Spa, a new solar array and an expanded reverse osmosis plant are being promised as well. And proving its commitment to the island, the resort plans to open a community clinic to help meet the health and wellbeing needs of islanders.
