Germany-headquartered chain Aspire Hotel Group is bolstering its expansion ambitions by recruiting a new director of development.

André Pietz will take up the role, with the company seeing this as a crucial step in implementing its rapid growth plans.

Portfolio plans

Aspire intends to further bolster its presence in the hospitality industry and offer its guests an even wider selection of first-class accommodation.

The group is committed to growing its portfolio and extending its network of hotels in the DACH region.

Extensive experience

With Pietz’s appointment key to these expansion aims, he brings a high level of expertise in the hospitality industry to the role. As a trained hotel specialist, so far he has 28 years of service in the sector.

His professional journey began in operational business, where he worked, among other things, as general manager at IHG Hotels & Resorts.

Development career

Over the last 15 years, Pietz moved into the expansion and development of hotel properties, forging a career in hotel real estate. His expertise extends across a wide range of activities that have contributed to various hotel projects’ successful implementation.

One of his notable roles was European expansion director for Leonardo Hotels, which he undertook for six years, making a  significant contribution to the hotel brand’s development across Europe.

Pipeline projects

Already in Aspire’s pipeline is a repositioning of the 60-key City Hotel Recklinghausen in northwest Germany to become Aspire Palais Recklinghausen in Q1 2024.

Plus the company recently signed a deal to takeover the 123-room Novotel Suites Hannover City in June 2024, when it will be rebranded and modernised.
