Also the first Hyatt hotel in the country, Andaz Prague marks a significant milestone for the group and its luxury lifestyle Andaz brand.

Andaz Prague is the fifth Andaz hotel to have opened in Europe and is considered one of the first luxury lifestyle hotels in the city of Prague.

A storied site

The 176-key Andaz Prague places guests within the historic ‘Sugar Palace’ on Senovážné Square. Dating back to 1916, this site was originally built for the Sugar Industry Insurance Association and has since been restored.

Reflecting the Andaz brand’s concept of creating a luxury lifestyle experience that’s defined by the local culture, this property celebrates its heritage and locale as well as providing connections to the city’s arts, cultural and fashion scenes.

Nearby sites include Prague’s Jewish quarter, Josefov, which is known for its rich history, and the commercial hub of New Town. The property is within walking distance of Wenceslas Square, the Old Town Square and the historic Municipal house.

“As the Andaz brand is known for stimulating the creativity and curiosity of each guest, we are honoured to introduce the brand to the Czech Republic,” said Doris Hecht, general manager at Andaz Prague.

“We are excited to welcome guests to Andaz Prague where we offer a unique experience through distinctive expressions of the local culture. The beautiful city of Prague continues to inspire many travellers to explore its rich offerings and Andaz Prague’s location offers guests the opportunity to take in some of the most stunning historic sites in Europe.”

Local inspiration

The hotel combines the heritage of its setting with modern style that encapsulates the local culture. Each room and suite is designed to capture the city’s rich heritage with modern creativity while also providing impressive city views.

The hotel’s Residence Suites provide views of Prague’s Dancing Fountain. For the most luxurious experience, guests can stay in the palatial Penthouse Suite featuring handcrafted furnishings, ornate moldings, a marble fireplace and sunroom.

Modern Czech bistronomy is offered in the hotel’s restaurant ZIM, which showcases the ingredients of Moravia and Bohemia in modern versions of Czech comfort dishes, with influences of authentic Nikkei also seen on the menu.

This dining space is complemented by the standalone MEZ bar offering signature cocktails that are infused with local ingredients and paying homage to historical figures of Prague.

Additional amenities and services within the property then include a fitness space and Klara Rott spa offering, as well as three Andaz Studio event spaces with decor inspired by Prague bygone sugar barons and accommodating anything from boardroom meetings to private dinners.
