Showcasing the work of NMDA Architects and Home Studios, the new 48-key boutique hotel Alsace LA features a stylish design that embodies artistic and free-spirited energy.

Created with the people of the West Adams neighbourhood of LA firmly in mind, this property endeavours to support, serve and partner up with locals and business owners.

A hotel built around storytelling

Alsace LA celebrates the power of storytelling, pairing white oak floors and Bauhaus-inspired curves with site-specific artwork, while contemporary photography and playful details help bring cultural relevance to the interiors. A highlight of the hotel is its lush internal courtyard and secluded in-ground pool retreat, complete with desert landscaping.

The much-anticipated property was developed by CIM Group. NMDA Architects is behind the architectural design and Brooklyn-based Home Studios is responsible for its memorable interiors.

Mediterranean design influences

Guests are first met in the intimate lobby, which is designed to mimic a Mediterranean-style portico. Overall, the hotel is residential in feel, with light filtering through each of the three floors from the central courtyard.

Rooms boast handcrafted details and abundant amenities, and the larger suites also incorporate a balcony or terrace, as well as a dining table and pull-out sofa. The legendary local music shop High-Fidelity Records is curating in-room playlists alongside the lobby’s ambient sounds.

During their stay, guests are treated to complimentary coffee and pastries, and are also able to order bespoke in-room boxes of local wine, beer, spirits and snacks. An indoor-outdoor restaurant is set to make its debut this winter.

Additional amenities within the property include a 24-hour fitness centre, the use of complimentary bikes and the chance to join monthly historical neighbourhood bike tours with Jose Prats, founder of West Adams Bike Tour and Adopt A Bike.

Meanwhile, meetings can be hosted in a 409 sq ft space featuring a 12-seat boardroom-style table, flat screen HDTV and conference room audiovisual equipment. The hotel is also partnering with co-working space Yoube, giving guests credits and access during their stay.
