Aleph Hospitality, the leading third party hotel management company in Africa, has added a new Cape Town office to capitalise on growth opportunities in the region.
Currently, Aleph has five hotels operating in South Africa, out of more than 15 open or planned in East and South Africa. In Cape Town itself, the company already operates three properties, all Onomo branded. Rob Kucera, Regional Vice President for East & South Africa at Aleph, will lead the office. Bani Haddad, founder of Aleph, noted: “Establishing a regional office in South Africa allows us to be closer to owners and investors and to help convert this potential in high performing hospitality assets, and supports our growth journey across Southern Africa.”
Responding to Regional Tourism Growth
Aleph has noted the scale of the opportunity across Africa at large, and specifically in key markets such as South Africa. For the first half of 2026, international tourist arrivals grew to 6.58 million entering South Africa, a figure up 12.4% on the previous year. The sector accounts for around 9% of the country’s GDP, and is reckoned to support around 1.8 million jobs.
After welcoming just short of 1 million visitors in April 2026, minister Khumbudzo Ntshavheni commented: “This marks the highest monthly year-on-year growth ever recorded, reaffirming South Africa’s enduring appeal as a global tourism destination.” Confidence is strong. LATAM Airlines recently brought forward its planned start date for a new route connecting Cape Town with Sao Paulo, for example.
Aleph already has a strong pipeline of properties across Africa, which are already under construction and which have management contracts signed. These include the Best Western Premier – Royal Golf View, Kigali, in Rwanda. Signed in January 2026, this project will open in mid 2027, and is being delivered by DND Developers. The hotel will feature a mix of accommodation, with 60 hotel rooms, plus a further 41 branded residences, all enjoying facilities including two f&b outlets, plus a pool and gym.
Elsewhere, 2027 will be the year the company launches Le Meridien Zanzibar Resort, a luxury 75 room new build for the Marriott brand. And in Somalia, work is progressing on the Mogadishu Rotana, due to open in 2028.
Aleph is also establishing a strong position as the hotel operator of choice across the Middle East. Most recently the company signed to open and manage the Crowne Plaza Multan, in Pakistan. Opening in 2028, this IHG branded property will have 200 rooms and will be set within the Serene Tower mixed use development.
Expanding in Saudi Arabia
The group is also readying Four Points by Sheraton Makkah Ibrahim Al Khalil, its third Marriott branded hotel in Saudi Arabia. Aleph took over management of the 338 room hotel in 2025, and has worked with owner Diyar Al Khalidiyah Hotel Services Company to prepare it for a brighter future under an international brand.
Also in the pipeline in Saudi Arabia is the Tapestry Collection by Hilton Dammam. Opening in 2027, this hotel will be Aleph’s third Tapestry Collection property in the country.
