Two Hilton Worldwide sites in Alabama, USA will now receive a facelift after being purchased by private investor Waramaug Hospitality.

Both Hilton Garden Inn Huntsville South/Redstone Arsenal and Hampton Inn & Suites Athens I-65/Huntsville Area will be overhauled to keep them up to date.

Asset appraisal

The 102-room Hilton Garden Inn features a large indoor pool, deck area, fitness centre with Precor equipment, business centre, and guest laundry. With 2,100 sq ft of meeting space, the property can accommodate small groups and offers a space most select-service hotels do not possess.

The 88-suite Hampton Inn & Suites features an indoor pool, fitness centre, business centre, and 650-sq ft of meeting space. The property is located three miles from Athens city centre, within walking distance from local restaurants.

Market leaders

Craig Nussbaum, executive vice president acquisitions at Waramaug Hospitality, outlined: “Both of these properties showed strong performance during the pandemic and fit well into our investment criteria. We are excited to enter the booming Huntsville market and are planning a comprehensive renovation of both assets to ensure they maintain their status as market leaders.”

Terrapin Hospitality will be managing both assets.

Other Hilton sites currently under refurbishment in the USA include the 81-room Hampton Inn & Suites Paso Robles in California, due for completion in Q3 2023, and fellow Californian property, the 196-key DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Doheny Beach set to conclude in the same quarter.
