Airclos T7000 RPT — a high-performance retractable roof

Test results of the T7000 RPT retractable roof series. The star series among Airclos Retractable Roofs due to its excellent performance.

T7000 RPT has become the star series among Airclos Retractable Roofs in a very short time due to its excellent performance.

Its exceptional performance has been recently verified by subjecting the system to rigorous tests —which yielded very good results— at the Ensatec laboratories.

The table below summarises these results:

TESTCLASS
Thermal transmittance “U” UNE EN 10077-2:2020Uw 1,4 W/m²K
Air permeability according to UNE EN 1026:2017Clase 3
Watertightness according to UNE EN 1027:2017Clase 8
Wind resistance according to UNE EN 12211:2017Clase C5, golpe final 3000 Pa

Thermal transmittance:

The only retractable roof with Longitudinal Thermal Break

Airclos’ T7000 RPT series of retractable roofs is the first on the market featuring a longitudinal Thermal Break that covers all points of contact between the outdoors and indoors, minimising thermal transmittance between spaces.

A major technical improvement that makes it possible to achieve a U-value of 1.4w/m²C, an unprecedented result for the retractable roof market.

To achieve this value, elements such as the following are used:

  • Addition of polyamide inside the profiles of panels: to avoid contact between the inner and outer sides of the panels, which are separated by a very low transmittance polyamide.
  • Polyurethane foam (PUR) filling in the profiles: the polyamide inside the profiles forms a gap that is filled with Polyurethane Foam to reduce transmittance.
  • Addition of polyamide between the panels: as it is a staggered system in which the panels are hidden one under the other, polyamide is added to the outer side of panels to avoid direct contact between them.
  • Incorporation of polyamide between the rails: the break has been designed taking the rails into account as well. For this reason, polyamide profiles have been incorporated between the different rails to avoid contact between them. In this way, the break extends to the entire system and not just to the roof panels.

Triple glazing

Thanks to this triple glazing system, the brand launches the first retractable roofs onto the market with a Ug value of 0.5w/m²C.

The Ug Value measures the thermal transmittance between the inside and outside of a room through the glass. The lower the Ug Value, the less transmittance there is and therefore less loss of heat or cold, thus increasing comfort and reducing energy consumption and environmental impact

Most of the surface of retractable roofs is made of glass, which results in a significant improvement in the thermal performance of the roof panel as a whole.

Air permeability

Air permeability measures the ability of the system to resist the passage of air through it. Low permeability is guaranteed for T7000 RPT thanks to the three main elements below.

  • Seals or brush seals with sheet: an accessory used as insulation in carpentry systems that improves the energy efficiency of enclosed spaces and their air permeability.
  • Rubber gaskets: thanks to their excellent mechanical properties, rubber gaskets guarantee the tightness of the system.
  • Windbreak: this element is specially designed to prevent smoke, noise, temperature changes or air in this case, from entering the enclosed space, thus increasing its air-tightness.

Water tightness

Water tightness determines how resistant an enclosure system is to water getting into the enclosed room.

T7000 RPT guarantees the insulation of the room even on rainy days thanks to the seals and rubber gaskets that ensure air tightness, and to the offset glass.

The offset glass is a glazing system that ensures a completely flat and watertight surface between the profiles and the glass panels.

Resistance to wind

Resistance to wind is the ability of the system to withstand a given wind strength under test without undergoing major deformations or breakage.

Our T7000 RPT retractable roof system is manufactured with panel profiles up to 5 mm thick, specially reinforced to withstand high wind loads.
