TFE Hotels reopens Adina Apartment Hotel Brisbane

TFE Hotels, the group behind Adina, Vibe Hotels and Rendezvous, have opened the doors of their Adina property in Brisbane for the second time in two years.

Following the four-year restoration of the historic building in which the Adina Apartment Hotel Brisbane is housed, the hotel was forced to shut suddenly after an unexpected setback.

However, the hotel is back and ready to go, welcoming guests once again to this urban gem in one of Australia’s trendiest cities.

A historic restoration process

The building which the Adina Apartment Hotel Brisbane sits in dates to 1913 when construction began. It finally finished nine years later in 1922 and has had many prominent lives since then.

It was first designed for Queensland Government Savings Bank, then Queensland’s first radio station set up shop on the top floor, while the rest of the building was used by the government.

The property was notable for being one of the first steel frame buildings in the city, and for being one of the tallest.

It was purchased by TFE Hotels in 2014 and underwent a massive four-year renovation to transform it into the stylish hotel it is today. This undertaking is well known throughout the city as being one of the most important restoration projects in recent history.

Old meets new

Given the extent of the restoration project, it’s no surprise that an entirely new interior has been created within the structure.

However, many of the building’s original period features were retained, such as the original bank vault doors, the heritage staircase, the plaster ceilings and timber detailing. This period features contrast with the new additions, including plush rugs, contemporary furnishings, hardwood floors and marble-esque tabletops.

Each of the guest rooms has been thoughtfully crafted so guests can relax in the comfort of a home away from home while enjoying spectacular views over the city and river.
