Acron puts design at the forefront of luxury in new hotels
German management company Acron has some new hotel projects in the works that are putting design front and centre. With their highly anticipated Solis Two Porsche Drive hotel in Atlanta opening its doors to the public last month in
November, Acron is riding high on the hype that this spectacular hotel generated. Located near the Hartsfield Jackson International Airport and adjacent to the Porsche Cars North America Atlanta complex, the new hotel overlooks the driving track at the Porsche Experience Centre and has 214 guest rooms, 18 executive suites, nine track view suites and a presidential suite, all of which are tastefully designed to reflect the prestigious setting that comes with the Porsche name. The hotel is a stylish mass, featuring a splayed volume with extensive glazing that conveys both speed and sophistication at once. The stunning hotel has already won an Americas Property Award. A press release by Acron confirming the award reads, “ [with] the award-winning architecture firm HOK, and the world’s most sought-after hotel designers Peter Silling & Associates, Acron has succeeded in developing a uniquely tailored luxury hotel property on the east side of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in the time since the opening of the new international terminal. The new hotel’s architecture complements the streamlined form of the nearby Porsche Experience Center, and its interior design incorporates subtle elements evoking auto racing throughout the building in order to underscore the high-powered lifestyle desired by guests.”
Another beautiful project in the works by Acron is the Navy Pier hotel, which will be operated by Hilton under the group’s luxury lifestyle brand The Curio Collection. The hotel is located in Chicago, and Acron consider this project a trophy investment, as the Navy Pier location is one of the most visited spots in the American Midwest, ensuring a steady flow of guests who come to check out Lake Michigan. The partnership was announced in October and will no doubt match the elegance of the hugely successful Solis Two Porsche Drive project.
Acron has also recently closed a deal to purchase the Sheraton Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco, California. The acquisition of the hotel in this historic and hugely popular location will no doubt be considered a win for Acron, and is the largest single investment by the group to date, with the purchase price jumping into the three-digit million range. Acron’s press release on the purchase gave more information: “Following a substantial renovation the Sheraton Fisherman’s Wharf Hotel will be the most attractive 4-star hotel in San Francisco. With 531 rooms, various conference and event facilities, etc., it will be a main spot in Fisherman’s Wharf and attracting many tourists and congress visitors. With two completely new designed Food & Beverage outlets, significant additional revenues will be generated.”
