Accor’s premium Pullman brand lands in China’s Yunnan province

The 40th Pullman hotel to open in Greater China, Pullman Resort Xishuangbanna brings the brand’s signature premium hotel experience to one of the People’s Republic’s top tourist destinations.

In a remote location in China’s southern Yunnan province among the tropical rainforests and unique wildlife near the border with Laos and Myanmar, Pullman Resort Xishuangbanna is quite literally a destination within a destination.

The Pullman expansion in China

More specifically located within the sprawling 880,000 sq m Sunac Xishuangbanna Resort – the largest lifestyle, leisure, tourism and culture resort hub in south-west China – the hotel benefits from both its beautiful natural setting and its convenient access to modern amenities.

“Pullman Resort Xishuangbanna is a remarkable addition to our Pullman hotels and resorts in Greater China,” said Gary Rosen, chairman and chief operating officer, Accor Greater China. “The property injects Pullman’s signature upbeat and contemporary premium hotel experience into an extraordinary destination. Further, it reinforces Pullman’s perspective by offering dynamic experiences to active, adventurous travellers while seamlessly blending with the destination’s vibrant cultural scene.”

Ample public spaces in an extraordinary location

The stylish 412 rooms and suites are cocooning retreats designed to deliver a contemporary take on the region’s traditional Dai style, with natural materials, ceiling fans and generous private balconies boasting rainforest views.

Alongside the 1,400 sq m of meeting and events space (which includes the pillar-free 660 sq m grand ballroom and the sprawling 1,500 sq m private Dream Lawn), moreover, are a series of appealing restaurants and bars. These include Joy, an international buffet restaurant with a French à la carte menu; the Lobby Lounge, where cocktails are served from a one-of-a-kind bar counter, using Dai stilt construction, amid the soundtrack of a live band; and Dai Yunxuan, a Chinese restaurant that serves authentic dishes as well as Sichuan and Hunan specialities using local produce.

Equally attractive is the property’s location – just 20 minutes from Xishuangbanna International Airport – as well as Sunac Xishuangbanna Resort’s offerings. Among the main draws there are water and amusement parks, a shopping mall, an Imax theatre and the Dai Show Theatre, which showcases elaborate multimedia performances through water acrobatics and masterful technology.

“We at Pullman Resort Xishuangbanna are dedicated to creating a playground for travellers by offering a creative and artistic property,” said Kevin Hou, general manager of Sunac Resort Xishuangbanna. “Our facilities provide guests with an immersive Dai cultural experience. These include guestrooms with splendid views of the tropical rainforest or Dai performances, diversified themes for events and conferences, destination weddings featuring romantic French or nostalgic themes, and memorable family vacation packages.”
