Accor enjoyed a resilient performance in the first half of 2026, and is maintaining a strong roster of new openings in the coming months

International hotel group Accor credited its agility as a business for a satisfactory set of results for the first half of 2026.

Revpar was up an average 2.2% across the global portfolio, with regional markets such as Brazil bouncing back, offsetting weakness in the Middle East. Luxury and lifestyle hotels continued to perform strongly, outside the region impacted by the conflict in Iran.

Openings Continue at Pace

The group saw net unit growth of 3.2% for the period. During the half year, Accor opened 109 hotels, adding close to 14,000 rooms. The company said new properties typically contribute around EUR1,700 in fee income per room per year, while older properties and those leaving the portfolio deliver a more modest EUR900 per room.

“Once again this half-year, and despite the disruption caused by the situation in the Middle East, the Group delivered solid growth,” declared Accor CEO Sebastien Bazin. “This performance reflects the momentum in our key markets, the commitment of our teams, the strength of our brands, and our rigorous cost discipline. We focus on what we can control and on delivering the group’s growth algorithm.”

During the period, Accor also finalised the agreed sale of its stake in Essendi, the company that owns many Accor branded hotels, across the Ibis and Novotel brands. It also agreed to sell a stake in the Silenseas cruise ship business, to a Swiss investment group.

Momentum was evident in the way new signings are stacking up. The pipeline grew 11.4%, with 1,595 hotels now committed for future openings around the world.

That pipeline will deliver a long list of hotels, even as soon as the autumn and winter of 2026. Among European openings planned for the rest of the year are Greet Augsburg, and the Davos Meierhof, which will join Accor’s Handwritten Collection. One the Greek island of Paros, the Luura Cliff will launch, as a Morgans Originals property, with just 39 boutique rooms.

Ibis Styles remains a staple of the Accor portfolio, with upcoming 2026 openings of Ibis Styles AmberExpo Gdansk, and ibis Styles Fagaras Citadel in Romania. The group’s Tribe brand is also building momentum, with openings in Reims and Montpelier.

Additions in the Middle East

In the Middle East, openings planned in the next few months include Raffles Red Sea, along with Fairmont Shura Island Red Sea and SLS Red Sea Residences. The Movenpick Hotel & Apartments Bausher Muscat will also open, a project that includes 250 rooms, plus a ballroom and extensive meeting facilities.

In the Americas, new additions to the portfolio include the upcoming Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Ipanema, a makeover of an existing property to create a new 172 room contemporary luxury hotel. And in Los Angeles, the Mama Shelter brand is coming with an office building conversion that will create a 149 room hotel on the city’s Olympic Boulevard. The design includes what is increasingly a must-have feature for boutique hotels, the rooftop pool.
