Accor has signed for the first Tribe Nation hotel in China, bringing a new urban lifestyle hospitality experience to modern and Gen Z Chinese travellers.

Through a partnership with Guiyang Chengnan Investment and Development Company Ltd, Tribe Nation Guiyang South will take shape within the Huaxi District, a national all-for-one tourism zone in the southern part of Guiyang.

Design driven

Scheduled to open in January 2025, the new 136-room hotel will offer a curated, design driven and locally connected guest experience. Tribe Nation Guiyang South will be designed as a creative hub where guests can relax among a like-minded community of locals and travellers.

The property will feature eco-friendly amenities and polished living spaces complemented by design elements, contrasting colours, and surprising details that appeal to modern sensibilities.

Comprehensive amenities

The Social Hub at the heart of the hotel will include a lobby lounge area offering barista drinks and light refreshments, along with flexible spaces for work or social interaction.

The site will also offer an all-day dining restaurant and a Chinese restaurant. Guests can access a well-equipped gym and swimming pool, with meetings and function spaces available for celebrations or conferences.

Leadership aim

Gary Rosen, CEO, Accor Greater China, said: “We believe Tribe Nation will quickly establish a leadership position among the Chinese lifestyle hospitality sector and we are proud to make the exciting city of Guiyang the brand’s first destination in China.

“Tribe Nation is designed to surprise travellers with an original and creative type of hospitality that redefines the hotel experience and amplifies style. With an abundance of welcoming spaces for connecting with friends, clients or locals, Tribe Nation Guiyang South will be a hotel that is as stylish as it is smart.”

New generation appeal

Xie Fangyuan, general manager, Guiyang Chengnan Investment and Development Co Ltd, added: “We are very pleased to partner with Accor to bring the new lifestyle experience of Tribe Nation to China, particularly with the first property in the thriving area of Guiyang.

“Tribe Nation is a brand that is cleverly designed to appeal to a new generation of travellers in China, with a flexible design model, stylish yet functional spaces, and a guest-centric focus that perfectly aligns with the tempo and energy of southwest China.”

Global Tribe

Globally, 50 Tribe hotels are underway, with up to 100 addresses expected to open over the next five years.

In Asia, the pipeline includes the 272-key Tribe Bangkok Sukhumvit 39, imminently arriving in the Thai capital; Tribe Phuket in the country’s southern island, adding 200 rooms to the portfolio in 2025; and the 200-key Tribe Manila, landing in the Philippine capital in Q1 2025.
