The much-anticipated SLS Scottsdale scheme, showcasing the talents of a stellar team that includes Biltform Architects and HGXDesign, will open its doors in June 2023.

Accor, working in partnership with Desco, Arizona and Dakota Development, has shed fresh light on its plan to launch a striking new SLS-branded property.

Expanding the SLS portfolio

On opening, SLS Scottsdale promises to deliver the experientially focused stays that this brand is known for internationally. The exciting development comes on the back of Accor’s planned joint venture with Ennismore to establish ‘the world’s leading lifestyle operator in the hospitality sector’.

“It’s our pleasure to announce SLS Scottsdale in collaboration with David E Slattery and Joe Faust and their teams at Desco and Dakota Development,” said Chadi Farhat, chief operating officer of SBE. “Scottsdale has long been synonymous with luxury resorts and culinary experiences, both of which are integral to the SLS brand. This is a prime market for SLS and we cannot wait to open our doors and show both guests and Scottsdale residents alike what makes this very special property and destination so unique.”

David E Slattery, CEO of Desco, Arizona, revealed that SLS Scottsdale would offer “world-class design, unmatched lifestyle offerings and bespoke services that will be the first of their kind in the city”. He added: “The property will pioneer a new era for hospitality in the region and we couldn’t be any prouder to be collaborating with the SBE team to bring the SLS brand to Scottsdale.”

An experiential stay

The scheme will comprise 235 guestrooms, including 30 luxurious suites, along with refined dining, bar and event spaces.

Phoenix-based studio Biltform Architects is leading the property’s architectural design, alongside New York’s HGXDesign, which is owned by Hal Goldstein. Dakota Development is developing the project, managing full-service development and technical services.

Overall, SLS properties aim to fuse playful glamour with elegant innovation. Ten new SLS sites are currently planned across North America, South America and Asia, all of which are slated to open within the next five years.
