French hospitality group Accor has announced the signing of its latest Filipino property, a Sofitel hotel within an SOM-designed mixed-use tower in Cebu City.
An exciting 195-key luxury hotel, Sofitel Cebu City, is expected to begin welcoming guests in 2025.
Bringing the Sofitel brand to Cebu City
In line with Sofitel’s ethos, this forthcoming Cebu City property promises to deliver an array of ‘magnifique’ experiences, embracing local culture and encouraging guests to ‘Live the French Way’ by enjoying the best in gastronomy and wellbeing.
“We are extremely pleased to be expanding our footprint in Cebu with the signing of Sofitel Cebu City,” said Garth Simmons, CEO of Accor in Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea. “Our partners’ commitment to a long-term partnership with Accor in these difficult times demonstrates the trust and the confidence they have in our group, the popularity of our brands across various segments, our proven track record of operational excellence and the relationship-driven approach and flexibility towards owners and investors.”
A new mixed-use development
This impressive new hotel will house two restaurants, a lobby lounge, an executive floor lounge and a rooftop bar. Aimed at both business and leisure travellers, the property will also feature a business centre, spa, fitness centre and swimming pool, while its extensive meeting room and ballroom offering will cater for a variety of events.
The hotel will be conveniently located within a landmark mixed-use tower, designed by SOM, in Cebu Business Park.
“We believe that Cebu is a destination with enormous potential,” said Jose Soberano III, CEO of Cebu Landmasters. “Sofitel Cebu City will ensure that we can offer both corporate and leisure travellers a luxury offering in the central business district of this prosperous port capital.
“We are confident that the hotel’s excellent array of entertainment amenities and business offerings will ensure that Sofitel Cebu City becomes a hub of hospitality in this key destination.”
One of the leading international operators in the Philippines, Accor has seven hotels across three of the country’s regions, with 17 more committed projects in the pipeline. Its new Cebu City property will join a growing portfolio of more than 120 Sofitel hotels and resorts around the world.
