Accor reveals plans for Raffles resort on Palm Jumeirah

French hotel giant Accor will continue its expansion across the Middle East by opening the region’s first Raffles resort - a 389-key property on Dubai’s iconic man-made island.

French hotel giant Accor will continue its expansion across the Middle East by opening the region’s first Raffles resort – a 389-key property on Dubai’s iconic man-made island.

Expected to debut in the last quarter of 2021, Raffles the Palm Dubai is set to become the first ultra-luxury property for Accor’s portfolio in Dubai.

A privileged setting

The hotel group is bringing this exciting new property to fruition in partnership with Emerald Palace Group (EGP). EGP boasts a proven track record of delivering schemes across Ukraine, the UAE and Russia, and has eight developments currently under construction and another ten at project stage.

The new Raffles resort will lie within 100,000 sq m of land on the West Crescent of Palm Jumeirah, the world’s largest man-made island and archipelago and a site that commands panoramic views over Dubai’s skyline.

“We are pleased to partner with Accor to establish the first Raffles resort in the Middle East,” said Dr Nver Mkhitaryan, owner of EGP Group. “Our international expertise in developing and constructing hotel and residential projects combined with Accor’s knowledge, presence and prestigious brand portfolio set the grounds to open the best hotel in town.”

“This is a very exciting opportunity for us,” added Mark Willis, CEO of Accor India, Middle East, Africa and Turkey. “There are very few beach resort plots left in Dubai and none on the Palm Jumeirah. The size of the property and its location perfectly lend itself to provide a prestigious address for the Raffles brand.”

Accor promises beachfront luxury

Altogether, the resort will comprise 389 guestrooms, which start at 65 sq m in size, including a number of suites and private beach villas. Each room will come with a balcony or terrace providing impressive sea vistas, as well as the famous Raffles butler service.

This accommodation will be joined by eight dining and drinking venues, along with a 3,000 sq m Cing Mondes Spa, encompassing 23 treatment rooms, two private spa suites and the city’s largest indoor swimming pool. Other facilities will reflect key elements of the Raffles brand, such as the Raffles Patisserie, Writer’s Lounge and Library, and a brand-new concept beach club offering Mediterranean cuisine and entertainment on the property’s 500-metre private white-sand beach.

Meanwhile, families will be able to make the most of amenities like an outdoor swimming pool, cinema, dedicated children’s pool and kids’ and teens’ club. Water sports such as paddle boarding and diving will also be offered.

Throughout the property, guests can expect the discreet service and curated experiences associated with the brand in a setting that draws inspiration from its location.

Mark Willis, CEO of Accor India, Middle East, Africa & Turkey, said: “We are confident that the new Raffles will compete with world-class luxury hotels across the globe. While being located in Dubai, one of the most sought-after cities in the world, Raffles will open its door to provide an unprecedented and exclusive level of luxury.

“From the private villas on the beach and array of dining offerings, to the expansive outdoor areas ideal for weddings and events, Raffles the Palm Dubai is all set to become a destination in itself.”

Accor currently operates 410 properties across India, Middle East, Africa and Turkey with 222 more on the horizon.
