Accor is expanding its portfolio in south east Europe with the signing of the first Swissôtel in Serbia.

In partnership with KOP2020 DOO, Swissôtel Kopaonik will be located in the Kopaonik ski resort and will welcome its first guests in time for the 2024-2025 winter season.

Ski style

The newbuild premium hotel will offer 175 modern and comfortable guestrooms, a selection of restaurants, a cigar bar, spa and wellness area, business space and a ski room.

Conveniently located in the centre of Kopaonik, next to the ski centre and within walking distance to the ski lifts, the new Swissôtel will be an addition to the mountain landscape.

Luxurious design

Accor’s development director for south eastern Europe, Dilek Sezer, said: “Serbia is one of the hidden gems of south eastern Europe. With incredible nature and culture, it is a treasure to be discovered by locals and travellers from all over Europe. At the same time, Kopaonik is a beloved destination for Serbian ski lovers looking for new premium services.

“We are delighted to bring the Swissôtel brand to this spectacular destination providing guests with a truly first-rate experience thanks to the hotel’s location, luxurious design, and commitment to its natural environment. The breathtaking scenery combined with Swissôtel’s contemporary vitality ethos will bring a new quality experience for travellers visiting Kopaonik.”

Incredible opportunities

Momčilo Djuričić from KOP2020 DOO added: “The choice of Accor as our partner was based on the complex offer of internationally recognised brands and highest operational standards.

“Cooperation with the global hospitality leader gives us incredible opportunities for the development of premium hotel services in Serbia. We strongly believe that by providing guests with the luxury standard, many new travellers will decide to discover Serbia’s incredible nature and culture.”

Eastern Europe expansion

The Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts brand offers contemporary hotels inspired by alpine energy and rooted in the tradition of Swiss hospitality.

Elsewhere in south eastern Europe, the strand is developing another ski resort, this time in Kolasin, Montenegro. Swissôtel Resort Kolasin will deliver 116 luxury rooms in Q4 this year. In Bulgaria, the brand has slated the 171-key Swissotel Sapareva Banya Thermal Resort, Spa and Health Center for Q4 2024, followed by the 281-room Swissotel Sofia in Q1 2025.
