With help from the likes of Tabanlıoglu Architects and Rockwell Group, Moscow’s spectacular new luxury lifestyle hotel is due to open its doors in 2023.

SO/ Moscow aims to raise the bar for hospitality in the Russian capital. We find out more.

A dynamic lifestyle hub

ANT Development and Accor have announced plans for an exciting new property under the SO/ Hotels & Resorts brand.

The hotel will form part of the premium Poklonnaya 9 mixed-use complex in one of Moscow’s most prestigious districts. This 32-storey scheme is located two minutes from Kutuzovsky Prospect and the Triumphal Arch of Moscow; combining features of neoclassicism and art deco, the building is intended to fit in harmoniously with the historic buildings of the Dorogomilovo district.

In terms of specifics, the hotel will house an array of facilities including a restaurant, bars and lounge areas, as well as coworking space, a spa, a fitness centre complete with panoramic pool, four levels of underground parking and top-floor penthouses with terraces. These hotel facilities will also be made available to residents of the Poklonnaya 9 apartments.

“ANT Development and SO/ Hotels & Resorts have a very similar vision of how modern luxury living should look, whether it’s an apartment complex or a hotel,” said Güven Dündar, managing partner of ANT Development. “From the very beginning, we set out to create a place that would not only serve and attract residents, but in fact become the leading, lifestyle, dining, entertainment and recreation destination for the Moscow social scene. SO/ locations are not just hotels, they are truly unique spaces that you want to come back to time and again.”

SO/ Moscow’s artistic vision

Reflecting the roles that fashion and design play in the brand, SO/ Hotels & Resorts is known for working with prominent designers to create a holistic hotel experience. For SO/ Moscow, Tabanlıoğlu Architects is behind the architectural concept, which involves putting the city’s authentic character and charm centre stage, while Rockwell Group is designing the hotel’s guest rooms and public spaces using Russian fairytales for inspiration.

“I am very pleased that our luxurious and fashionable SO/ brand is coming to Moscow and especially in such an iconic place as Kutuzovsky Prospect and Poklonnaya Gora,” said Alexis Delaroff, COO of Accor in Russia, Georgia, Ukraine and CIS. “This luxury brand, which is known for its avant-garde design, high fashion influences and trend-setting events, will add a French-infused charm and high-class ambience to the Moscow location. It will undoubtedly become a place of attraction for guests and locals alike.”

The ambitious building is due for completion by the second quarter of 2023.
