Premium serviced apartment brand A by Adina has signed its first property in Europe, and will open in 2025 in the Austrian capital, Vienna as a first step to growing across the continent.

Australia’s TFE Hotels has revealed the first European location for its premium aparthotel brand, A by Adina. A property in Vienna, Austria has been secured, and will open in 2025.

A by Adina Vienna Danube will act as a European flagship for the brand, which has already launched in Australia, offering 108 premium apartments for travellers in a mix of sizes from studio to two bedroom. The property will feature a bar, cocktail lounge and a restaurant with a terrace affording diners views down over the Danube river. Luxury facilities for residents will include a panoramic infinity pool, heated for year round use, plus a significant wellness offering.

A dramatic setting in Vienna

The apartments will be set within Austria’s tallest residential tower, which is being developed by local property investors S+B Gruppe and Soravia, to the designs of hospitality specialists BWM Designers & Architects.

The Adina brand was devised by Australia’s TFE Hotels, itself originally created as a joint venture between Australian company TOGA Hotels, and Far East Orchard from Singapore. Over the years, TFE has built an international portfolio of hotels and aparthotels, across Asia Pacific and in Europe.

A by Adina is a more recent addition, showcasing a more luxurious level of serviced apartment living. Already established in Australia, it is growing there too, and recently won consent for the 204 unit A by Adina Sydney Central. ““From our initial launch in Australia in 2021, we have always envisioned and planned to introduce this premium hotel living brand into new markets, so a move into Europe was the natural next step for us,” said TFE Hotels CEO, Antony Ritch. The group is also planning an A by Adina in Melbourne

Building a European presence

Leading efforts to grow the brand  across Europe will be Asli Kutlucan, a well-known figure in the sector from her thirteen years with third party hotel manager Cycas Hospitality. Appointed Adina Europe’s CEO in early 2024, she is now looking for new properties, and added: “When you step inside an A by Adina, you’ll find that perfectly suited balance between a hotel and a private apartment in the city. We want the entire experience at A by Adina Vienna Danube to be understated, but impactful.”

The group’s established hotel brands include Adina, which has an established portfolio of aparthotels and serviced apartments across both Asia Pacific and Europe. Adina launched in 1998 in Budapest, and has since grown across the continent with 14 locations in Germany and a presence too in Austria, Denmark and Switzerland. Back in Australia there are now 23 sites, while the brand has also taken its first steps into New Zealand and Singapore. The Vibe hotel brand is also well established across Australia, with Singapore being its first international destination.

The company also operates the Travelodge brand in Australia and New Zealand, and is building other newer hotel brands including Rendezvous and Quincy
