Hyatt Hotels Corporation has entered the final quarter of 2026 with several luxury openings and brand changes in the Americas. The company is adding hotels under its Park Hyatt, Unbound Collection, Alila, and Grand Hyatt brands. Most of the activity centers on Mexico, with additions in Canada and the Caribbean as well. Tamara Lohan, Hyatt’s Global Brand Leader for Luxury, said the company wants to “grow thoughtfully and give travelers more choice.”
Park Hyatt Builds Out Mexico
Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol opened in December 2025 as the brand’s first hotel in Mexico. It is located on the coast of Baja California Sur and uses contemporary Mexican architecture. The resort has oceanfront dining and a wellness program shaped by the surrounding landscape. It is the first of three Park Hyatt properties planned for the country.
Park Hyatt Riviera Maya is expected to open by the end of 2026 on a secluded stretch of Mexico’s Caribbean coast. It will be the first all-inclusive Park Hyatt in the world. Guests will get personalized pre-arrival planning and a fully à la carte dining setup. Park Hyatt Mexico City Polanco is expected to open in spring 2027 on Campos Elíseos, with 155 rooms and suites overlooking Chapultepec Park. Hyatt says travelers will be able to pair a stay in the capital with time on either coast.
The Unbound Collection Grows
The Clayfield has joined The Unbound Collection by Hyatt in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. The hotel takes its design cues from the region’s clay-rich soil and nearby vineyards. Warm earth tones, natural materials, and tactile finishes run through the property. It is positioned as a wine-country retreat.
Impression Isla Mujeres will join the collection on November 2. The resort is adults-only and all-inclusive, with suite-led accommodations and butler service. Hyatt also plans an experiences program for the collection this year. The Georgian, Hotel La Compañía Casco Antiguo, and Impression Isla Mujeres will be among the first to offer it, with private culinary and wine outings and behind-the-scenes access to local artists and makers.
Alila and Grand Hyatt Add Locations
Alila Mayakoba joined Hyatt’s Alila portfolio in February 2026. The resort covers 60 acres of beach, lagoon, and jungle on the Riviera Maya. It has 182 guestrooms, suites, and villas, six dining venues, and a spa. Regional artisans contributed to the design, and a wellbeing program was developed with local practitioners.
Alila Mayakoba is one of four Alila hotels in the Americas, along with Alila Ventana Big Sur, Alila Napa Valley, and Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas. All four joined Erewhon’s Member Lifestyle Collective on October 1. Hyatt says the arrangement introduces Alila to people who value wellbeing and intentional living.
Grand Hyatt also has three openings planned for the fourth quarter of 2026:
- Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman
- Grand Hyatt Cancun
- Grand Hyatt Los Cabos
The Cancún and Los Cabos hotels will bring all-inclusive stays to the Grand Hyatt brand in the Americas. All three are in leisure destinations. As of June 30, 2026, Hyatt’s overall portfolio included more than 1,500 hotels and all-inclusive properties in 83 countries.
