The Xperience Quarter is under construction in Taufkirchen, in the research and technology cluster south of Munich. The developer, Art-Invest Real Estate, has signed a long-term lease with Norwegian operator CIC Hospitality for this week’s Project of the Week hotel in Germany. It will fly the upscale Radisson flag and is set to open in the first half of 2028. Below, we cover the hotel, the district, and the companies around it, using details from the project announcement.

The Quarter in Four Takes
The Design
HENN designed the Xperience Quarter. Construction is already moving, and the topping-out ceremony took place in September. The hotel is one part of the district rather than a standalone building.
The Hotel
The hotel will have more than 120 rooms and a fitness area, and it will open under the Radisson name in the first half of 2028. CIC Hospitality, the Oslo-based operator, will run it on a long-term lease. The company already manages more than 30 hotels in Scandinavia and Germany, so the Taufkirchen property will join an existing portfolio. CIC says it plans to shape the hotel around the needs of business travelers, local companies, and tourists. That mix fits the setting, since the quarter sits among research firms, tech companies, and a growing aerospace campus.
The Office Space
HENSOLDT will move its German headquarters into the quarter and will fully occupy an office building of more than 12,000 square meters by the end of 2027. With the hotel space now secured, the quarter is about 80% occupied. Around 5,000 square meters of office and conference space remains available.
The Neighborhood
The quarter sits across from Space Valley, the aerospace campus the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is developing. TUM describes it as Europe’s largest. Airbus, Panasonic, and HENSOLDT are also nearby.
Who Is Involved and Why It Matters
Art-Invest Real Estate is the developer behind the quarter. Tobias Wilhelm, Managing Director and Head of the Munich branch, said the hotel pairs well with the future HENSOLDT headquarters. He added that it should help the location draw companies, employees, and international guests. Dr. Peter Ebertz, Managing Director and Head of Hotels, said the deal is about more than leasing a hotel. He pointed to CIC’s work in similar districts and said both sides share enthusiasm for the site. The signing also reflects Art-Invest’s track record of building hotels inside urban districts.
CIC Hospitality CEO Matthias Tanski said the quarter offers what the company looks for: international companies, a high level of innovation, and long-term demand for quality rooms. Max Gross, Chief Development Officer for Central and Eastern Europe at Radisson Hotel Group, said the quarter suits the Radisson brand. He credited its international access, economic momentum, and modern district concept. Both executives tied the hotel to the research and technology activity around it.
For Radisson Hotel Group, the hotel adds another property in the greater Munich area. The brand brings strong recognition and sales reach, especially in business travel and the conference segment. Compandion acted as intermediary on the lease, and GSK Stockmann advised Art-Invest. The parties agreed to keep further contract details confidential.
