Designed for the young at heart, The Ascott's Lyf brand is expanding fast across Asia, and in Europe

The Ascott, the extended stay division of Singaporean investment group Capitaland, has announced plans to bring its Lyf co-living brand to the Vietnamese city of Nha Trang.

The development will be the latest in a long line with real estate partner KDI Group, which has already yielded several successful projects across the region. On this occasion, the new hotel will be part of KDI Group’s integrated coastal development in Nha Trang. Alora Nha Trang will feature tourism, entertainment and residential elements. The 198 unit property will be a fully featured hotel, with co-working spaces, a laundry and gym, social kitchen and restaurants.

A Substantial Presence Across Vietnam

Adding this new development to Ascott’s existing portfolio will take it to 44 properties, with more 12,200 units open or in development.

Aside from Ascott, several other international hotel brands are planning to enter the Nha Trang marketplace. Spanish group Melia is not far off opening its Paramount Signature Nha Trang by Melia resort, part of the substantial Vega City development. The hotel itself will have 365 rooms, and guests will have all sorts of entertainment nearby, including the Dance of Lights show, Promenade of the Stars, and a tropical beach club.

Another major resort development will include two hotels for Accor brands. Rixos Hotel Nha Trang will have 556 rooms, and is planned for opening in early 2030. The same development will also include Hyde Resort Nha Trang, a smaller four star hotel with 150 rooms.

The Lyf brand is expanding fast across Asia. In Vietnam alone, alongside its plans for Nha Trang, Ascott is also actively developing Lyf Beachfront Da Nang, a 150 room project due for opening in the first quarter of 2027. There are also plans to open a Lyf in Ho Chi Minh City.

Elsewhere across the Asia Pacific region, Lyf Chinatown Singapore has just opened. In Malaysia, Lyf Brickfields Kuala Lumpur will launch in late 2027, a 204 unit new build in the city. Around the same time, lyf Resort Labuan Bajo, on the Indonesian coast, should be preparing for launch.

Building Lyf Across Europe

Europe is another key market for the brand. In the UK, two sites are shortly to open. A conversion in the north will deliver Lyf Manchester, with 280 rooms. And it will be joined by another conversion project, Lyf Chelsea London. With 232 rooms, this property sits alongside the Stamford Bridge stadium, home ground for the renowned Chelsea football club. Also in development is Lyf Mariahilf Vienna, with 150 units and close to the city’s main station.

The group has also signed a dual hotel project in Seville, Spain. This will combine Lyf Lagoon Hotel Seville with a co-located Somerset serviced apartments project, all part of the city’s major new Lagoon City development.
