Minor Hotels has signed a management agreement to operate Avani+ Hanoi, a new 310-key hotel scheduled to open in the Vietnamese capital in 2028. The property will be run under an agreement with Trading Construction Works Organization and will sit in Hanoi’s Bach Mai Ward. It will be the first time the Avani brand, or any Minor Hotels brand, will operate a property in Hanoi.
The hotel is part of a larger mixed-use development called Hinode City, which will include a lifestyle mall along with 1,099 residential and serviced apartments. The site sits at the intersection of Minh Khai and Kim Nguu Street, and the Old Quarter is about a 10-minute drive away. Trading Construction Works Organization works across real estate, industrial manufacturing, and energy.
A Fourth Vietnamese Market for the Group
Minor Hotels already operates four hotels in Vietnam under its Anantara and Avani brands, along with a luxury train service. Those properties include:
- Anantara Hoi An Resort
- Anantara Mui Ne Resort
- Anantara Quy Nhon Villas
- Avani Quy Nhon Resort
The company also runs The Vietage by Anantara, a train service with luxury carriages. Avani+ Hanoi extends that existing presence into a major metropolitan market for the first time, rather than a beach or resort destination. Omar Romero, Chief Development and Luxury Officer at Minor Hotels, said the location in Bach Mai Ward gives the company a genuine hub in the capital, with appeal to both business and leisure travelers looking for a well-connected base.
The Start of a Long-Term Partnership
Avani+ Hanoi will include an indoor pool and deck, a fitness center, all-day dining, and specialty restaurants, along with meeting and function space. The hotel is designed to draw corporate travelers as well as long-stay and leisure guests, given its central location. Avani’s other properties tend to emphasize casual service and locally inspired food, and this hotel is expected to follow that same approach.
Vo Toan Cong, Chairman of Gerbera-II Hospitality One Member Company Limited, a subsidiary of Trading Construction Works Organization, said the agreement marks the start of a long-term partnership with Minor Hotels. He added that the companies share a “vision of bringing international hospitality standards to Hinode City.” Both sides described the hotel as a step toward establishing a new standard for the area once it opens.
Avani launched in 2011 and now has more than 40 properties spread across five continents, mixing city hotels with resorts and nature retreats. Minor Hotels, the parent company, operates more than 640 hotels, resorts, and branded residences across 67 countries. Its portfolio includes brands such as Anantara, NH Collection, Tivoli, and Oaks, along with restaurants, spas, and travel businesses. The Hanoi signing adds one more market to that global list, with the hotel expected to open in 2028 alongside the rest of the Hinode City development.
