Ennismore, the lifetyle division of Accor, has signed to launch its Hoxton brand in Poland.
The property, the group’s first hotel in the country, will open in the city of Krakow, launching in the second half of 2027. The 115 room property will deliver a new vibe to the city centre at Dolnych Młynów 10.
Reusing a historic city factory complex
The historic former Imperial-Royal tobacco factory will be refashioned for new use as a hotel, by investment partners NOHO Investments, and KNSA Hospitality. Aside from a mix of accommodation, the building transformation will feature a vibrant lobby, restaurant and bar with everyone welcome to stay for all-day dining.
The property will also feature a gallery with a rotating exhibition that will support local artistic talent. And The Apartment will be the destination’s meeting and events space, with a series of private rooms set around a communal kitchen.
The tobacco factory complex is generating a new mixed use destination, with apartments, a food hall and restaurants, plus green courtyards. In total, eleven buildings are being transformed, with additions of new architecture blending in with the historic fabric.
“Kraków is a city to be dazzled by its art, architecture, exhilarating food and beverage scene and warm hospitality,” said Rob Andrews, chief operating officer for Hoxton. “This combination of culture and community makes it the perfect home for The Hoxton.”
The Krakow hotel will build on a strong European presence for Ennismore, whose brands now have more than 80 properties open across the continent. Hoxton has recently opened additional hotels in Edinburgh and Vienna, and has sites in Dublin and Oslo in development. In Hamburg, the company is working on the refurbishment and rebranding of the former Sofitel hotel, due to open as a Hoxton in 2026.
Across its brand portfolio, Ennismore has recently opened SLS Barcelona, its first site for the brand in Europe, and has added Hyde London City, Mondrian in Ibiza and a new Mama Shelter hotel in Nice.
Other Ennismore developments under construction include SO/ Budapest, another rebranding of a former Sofitel, plus Mama Shelter in Lake Como, and Luura Cliff on the Greek island of Paros. When complete in mid 2026, this new build will open as part of the Morgans Originals portfolio.
The Mama Shelter brand grows
Also adding to Mama Shelter’s European presence is Mama Shelter Amsterdam, a 150 room conversion that will launch in early 2027. And the brand is making preparations in another French destination, Toulon, for a conversion to create a 100 room hotel for opening in early 2028.
The concept of branded residences is one that Ennismore is also exploring with its brands. It first standalone residence project for the SLS brand will open in Madrid, welcoming its first homeowners in 2026. The SLS Madrid Infantas Residences will be set within a refurbished historic property in the city centre, featuring a roof terrace with swimming pool.
